Very beautiful piece of wood Carl and the urn turned out great. Really like that approach to getting the grain to line up. I'm sure if I try that, I'll wind up glueing the top to the base though 😐. Neat knob for the top -- I'm assuming you use CA or epoxy to hold it onto the threaded insert once you are ready to keep it in place so that one can thread and unthread the top?
