Outstanding video from start to finish! Thanks for saving me a ton of time. However, I dropped a spacer into the black void, spent an hour with a flashlight trying to find it, no luck. I had a close replacement that worked. Thanks again!

Ha! Thats the magic of video. I dropped my spacer several times. I never lost it but ya.

I think(hope) my Vortex will be here sooner than my tank so it is nice to know I don't have to remove the tank twice. Thanks!

Did the ecu help lighten up the god awful engine breaking?

Where can I see your comparison of the jd tuner and the vortex, I currently have a full yoshi with the jd, I want to know if it’s worth upgrading to vortex and what difference it made

I hate to admit it but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I waited six months for an exhaust because of covid. By then, it was cold and nasty. I now have the vortex with FMF Q4. Night and day difference. I’ll try and get that video up this spring.

Excellent video - just FYI looks like you put the boot on the wrong way around.

Hey, just curious what settings you have preferred with the standard oem exhaust?
@ufixit4 жыл бұрын
I don’t remember what number it is but I only ran the setting for stock exhaust. I didn’t experiment with the others. I finally got an FMFQ4 and put it on the enduro setting. It made a HUGE difference. Its a beast now.

@@ufixit i appreciate the response. I have the ecu, havnt installed yet. Im hopeful to use the stock exhaust as im not a big fan of the louder pipe. Feel like i may be forced to go with another pipe to get the most out of the unit. Cant find much info on use with oem exhaust.

Thank you for your video. Just got my 2021 CRF 450 RL. I really hate the jerky throttle feeling. I don’t need more power and would like to leave the stock exhaust. Do you think that vortex ecu with a stock exhaust will eliminate the jerky feeling of the throttle?
@OrangesmokeM73 жыл бұрын
I just picked up a 2021 also couple days ago. Got 40 miles on it and wondering the same thing. The jerky throttle is maddening
@ufixit3 жыл бұрын
I hate to say it because the vortex ECU is so expensive and I like to find DIY ways to fix things but, Yes, the vortex is the only way to solve the problem. The stock ECU shuts off power and spark when you roll off the throttle until the engine RPM get back down to idle speed. That's what causes the sudden engine breaking. When you roll back on, it comes back to life abruptly and jerks the other way. I guess it's programmed that way for emission reasons. It sucks though. I ran the vortex with a stock exhaust for several months and it worked great.

U Fix It Garage thanks man 👍 vortex it is then. Yeah I figured it was due to the emmisions stuff. I was having flame out frequently also until it hit 200 mile mark and that seemed to disappear now.

Hello , the ecu increase hp? Thanks
@ufixit3 жыл бұрын
All I have is the seat of my pants to measure power output. I put on a new FMF exhaust at the same time I replaced the ECU, so I can't say what % each contributed to the result. There was a very noticeable difference. It would be my first mod if I were to buy a new one.
