Thank you brother! Since this is our first time, we’re bound to screw up! 😂 I figured we might be able to spare people some mistakes of their own. KZbin is filled with great vids on how to make perfect things, but life and boat building are definitely not that! Thanks for the kind words! Channels like yours inspire us and many others to get out there and do what we’re passionate about! If anyone’s reading this follow DIY WATERWORLD for some entertaining and wild boating and building adventures! 🍻

@perfectfitboating
@perfectfitboating 8 ай бұрын
@aeroscout8409 yes, mar pro is a company that rebrands alot of different marine products. I saw them pop up at a local shop like a year ago maybe more. I don’t know what product they’re rebranding though. We’ve used FGCI gelcoat from the beginning and have had great success. We just used it today actually to fair part of the floor of a transom we’re working on. Check out our instagram you can see it there. I’ve sprayed it, rolled and brushed it and it’s awesome!

You guys might not be professional boat builders, but man you’ve done an awesome job restoring the deck. Grady White is a heck of a boat and built like a tank. Restoration is going beautifully well so far. Can’t wait to see the final product. Like to know at the end a $ amount of amount spent not including labor. Total cost of the restoration project.?????
@perfectfitboating
@perfectfitboating 5 ай бұрын
Hey Jorge! We are still working on her as we use her. We stayed doing the topside already, we’re getting ready to shoot the gunnels with gel coat and redo the gel coat on the floor last. Once we’re done we’re gonna make a longer video of all the work with a breakdown of all the cost. So far it’s been about 15k in parts and supplies including the boat itself, 23k for the motor. As far as labor goes…I have no idea lol🤙🌊🛥️

So got the weather to glaze radar bar holes. So gathered my nerves, and finally put a coat of USC Glaze over the small holes in my radar bar. Started a little shaky cause I mixed a large batch ( bout a 3" puddle) and it kicked quicker than I expected. So mixed up smaller batches and it worked out so much better. Knocked down some of the excess after setting so it's not as time consuming when I finalize for gel coating... Almost there brother!!!!!
@perfectfitboating
@perfectfitboating 7 ай бұрын
Bad ass! In this weather it’s always best to do smaller batches. I try to keep any type of resin batches to 8oz or less. Just kicks too fast. I’ve even thought about placing the resin in a cooler with ice right before mixing so I have a longer working time. Send pics so we can see!🤙

Great video, new subscriber! What was your paint gun setup? Tip size? Pressure? Thanks!
@perfectfitboating
@perfectfitboating Жыл бұрын
Hey Bret! Thanks for the comment! My setup was a fairly cheap one off Amazon. Depending on where you are you have to work fairly quick if it’s hot. And if you don’t you’ll have to throw the gun away. Seeing as this was my second time spraying and I’d probably screw up, a cheaper style gun made sense for me. That being said, I used a 2.3mm nozzle (for shooting gelcoat it needs to be a bigger size than standard sizes) I sprayed at 50 psi and I have a chiller I use to keep water out of the gun. You can probably get away with a small water separator attachment. It lays down ok. I’ve also learned that mixing gelcoat with duratec lays down gelcoat with the finish of paint and you can use a smaller size nozzle. I’d look into that if I was you. Hope that helped! Thank you for the sub brotha!🙌🍻
