Hi Heath, I learned this knot a while ago and it's strong. I tie my mono leader to my braid main line with a version of this knot. After you do the six wraps, I do six wraps back toward the loop and then put the tag end through the loop. It's almost the same thing. Hope all is well with your "Crew." Have ever tried the Yucatan knot. That's my go to knot and it's quicker than the Albright.

I like the albright... here's the thing with uni to uni... is it's made to splice together 2 lines of the same pound test. where as the Albright is made to connect different lines.
