EASIEST Ways of Getting OFF-COLORS in Path of Exile!

Getting off-colors on your armour or weapon can get very expensive, especially if you need 5 or 6 off-colors. Zizaran showcases a few tips and methods to off-color your items much easier and cheaper!
If you do decide to do it the regular way, there's a very handy site to calculate the best method to use chromatics on your items. siveran.github.io/calc.html
How to use:
1) Put the number of sockets you have on your item (from 1-6);
2) Put your item's requirement stats. For example, Vaal Regalia has 194 INT requirement, so you put that value into the int box;
3) Pick the desired socket colors you want. For example, on my 6 Socket Vaal Regalia, I want 5 Red, 1 Green, I put those numbers in their corresponding boxes.

One method that didn't get mentioned here: If you are crafting a rare item from scratch, you can start off by rolling a "% reduced attribute requirements" suffix on your item, which will additionally help increasing the chances of rolling off colours.

@@destroyermaker depends on how big the roll is. an item with no attribute requirements has a 33/33/33% chance of rolling all colors. This gets weighted by requirements (no idea what the exact formula is) and cutting a 150+ requirement by half has a dramatic effect on chromes needed.

to not clutter your inv too much you can pick only 1x3 items with red / blue / green sockets and vendor for one chrome each, during mapping I try to pick them up here and then

Hey ziz, any way to specifically target certain colors on a specific socket ? IE: I have a 5 link 6 socket chest and I want a blue on the LAST unlinked socket, any way to find out the odds of this specific outcome ?

Harvest “change one color to another” would be your best bet. Or go down to 4 sockets and jewelers your way back.

So ... I just now got that the different factions of Betrayal are also the different ways we enounter them. Ambush=Intervention, Base=Fortification, Convoy=Transportation or Lab=Research. I never put that together until now, I always assumed it was random which faction it would let me move them to...

You run the final safehouse/mastermind and after defeating the final boss (Caterina), then there will be a crafting bench located in the safehouse and you can slam 1-6 white sockets on a body armour but only if you have defeated caterina before otherwise it will be 1-5 white sockets

The easiest way to get off color is using tainted chromatic orbs because they simply don’t care about base stats of an item so even for a 200dex bow you can roll 6R with at most 3^6=729 orbs. Needs a corrupted item though but Eid you already plan to taunted fusing it then why not :D

And it goes without saying that 6R is the most extreme case 😂 normally I would think within 10 orbs you will get 1 full off color

Yeah I'm enjoying the campaign but not sure how long I will last into end game, I work 80 hours a week I don't have time to study 15 different systems that are super convoluted

@@hucklebk complexity wouldn be a problem IF the rewards matched the complexity ... problem is its designed in a way that you have to do these things over and over and over to either get small amount of currency to MAYBE get a result you want or for guaranteed results it needs a LOT of that currency ... in other words insanely huge time sink ... in simples most basic terms to craf 6 sockets into an item - the most basic of basics of endgame requirements - you need 350 jewelers orbs you can get 7 jewelers from any six socket item that means you have to get 50 six socketed items to drop to be able to craft in 6 sockets lets say you are lucky and drop one 6 socket item per 2 basic early maps you run with your barebones char that just finished campaign and struggels to keep alive against anything due to being slapped by the massive -60% resits as a "reward" that would come out as 50*2*whatever time you need to finish a T1-5 map, lets say a 15 minutes because your char cant do it any faster and dies a lot to a randome oneshots at that point thats (100*15)/60= 25 HOURS of mindless grind to just scrounge enough jewelers to make one six sockets congratulations, you get basic item with six sockets ... that are not linked and are wrong colors ... as everything in PoE these systems are tuned for people running cookie cutter builds that can clear a map in 30 seconds and completely forgetting that some of us just want to play a damn game not stare at spreadsheets and follow pre determined grind pathways that are basically made for bots ... you can hear it in this very video "oh i get THOUSANDS of jewelers" - sure you do bud, running your perfect op build running max tier maps with huge multipliers on drops ...
