Hello, your video is very detailed and well done. I have a GE Profile French door refrig and in the freezer section, we found a part on the bottom of the freezer but do not know what it is for or where it belongs. If I were to send you a few photos of the part, would you be able to tell me what it is and where it belongs as well as how to reinstall it? It looks like a small funnel in a way, so I'm thinking drain of some sort but I could be wrong. Thank you.
@PartsDr2 ай бұрын
You can link a photo of it here along with your model number and we can see if we can determine what it is.

This Video is great but my problem is the bottom pin on the Lower hinge for the the ice maker door broke. Can you show me how to replace that and if you know what the part number is? it looks like it is molded right into the door. Is there anyway to repair this?
@PartsDrАй бұрын
That pin is only sold as part of the door assembly.

Hi. Good video. I am having an issue with residue in the ice that the ice maker produces. Maybe it is bacteria. There is no residue in the water from the water dispenser. I am assuming that there is bacterial growth in the line that feeds the ice maker. After the water line enters the ice maker side there must be a splitter in the line from the water filter that feeds the dispenser and the ice maker. I assume that only the ice maker segment of the line needs replacement. I already pumped a vinegar mix through the line and replaced the water filter afterwards. The ice still came out with residue 16 hours later. I will give it more time to clear out - maybe the vinegar broke lose more of the residue source - either way I will wait and see before line replacement.

The water line splits at the water valve in the door 0:52. The ice maker itself may also need to be replaced. Sometimes the non-stick coating on the ice maker degrades over time and it can start to come off into the ice cubes.

So that black tube next to the condenser motor leaks water ? Is that just condensation leaving the fridge ? There’s a little bit of water on the bottom pan and idk if that’s good or not
@PartsDr2 ай бұрын
It is normal. This water comes from the automatic defrost cycles and evaporates in the tray next to the compressor.

I replaced the fan with ease. However, while doing so, I could see that the black plastic wrapping was melted. What problem does this cause and what should I do to fix. 14:45
@PartsDr4 ай бұрын
It looks to be heat shrink tubing. If the wiring is still in good condition, you could try replacing the heat shrink tubing with some the same size.
@brendaryan75234 ай бұрын
@@PartsDr thank you. I was worried I might have a bigger problem.
@PartsDr3 ай бұрын
@@brendaryan7523 You should be okay from what you described. If the wiring harness is damaged, then you will need to replace that the wiring harness.

@@PartsDr thank you. So far, things are running fine. I have a fridge thermometer inside the fridge and the temp fluctuates a bit, but no problems or unusual noises or anything. I appreciate you following up.

This is great! Unfortunately, I have to remove the entire evaporator with heater assembly itself. The old GE part (WR85X10154) has been superseded by updated version (WR87X36103). I can't find anything about how to change them out and I have the new part I ordered from you guys arriving tomorrow. Can you help me out?

We are sorry, but we do not have any videos on this repair. We would recommend having a trained professional do a sealed system repair like this if you are not experienced in doing those types of repairs.
@TrillaNasty2 ай бұрын
have this same exact fridge. Today i noticed a faint smell that smelled like burnt hair. What could this be ?
@PartsDr2 ай бұрын
You might check the fan motors, defrost heaters, and control boards to see if the smell is coming from any of those items.
@TrillaNasty2 ай бұрын
@ control board looks like it’s behind the fridge according to the video correct ? It’s brand new and still under warranty. If I look myself will it void the warranty ? Didn’t look to see if it has tamper proof seals
@PartsDr2 ай бұрын
@@TrillaNasty If it's brand new you should contact GE and have them take a look at it. We don't think removing a cover would void any warranties, but you should first check with GE.

We recently replaced our fridge and moved it out to the garage. I recently noticed that when barefoot, the left door and back panel shock me when touching it. Do you have any thoughts on what it could be?
@PartsDr7 ай бұрын
Try using an extension cord to plug the fridge into a different outlet. This will help rule out an electrical issue with the outlet.

Hi, I troubleshoot all systems on my Samsung Dryer and still not working? It turns on and no error code displayed. I replaced the control board, fuse and thermester and moisture sensor
@vzburns1 Жыл бұрын
Do new dryers not have heater coils anymore? That is where I would start. Also check your fuse box (the house one not the fuse on the dryer) dryers are 220. Depending on what type of circuit breakers you have. Only one half can flip off so the dryer will come on and spin but not get hot. Stoves can do the same thing the oven will get hot but the burners won't. Good place to start.

GE Refrigerator GSS25GYPGCFS parts diagram at GE online some of the parts are not the same as whats on mine. For example defrost heater, the one online is the type with a metal plate and holes in it . Mine actually is the solid black looping type. Next example online the defrost heater has a biametal about the diameter of a nickel type on top of the evaporator and a white plastic wire type thermister in the diagram. Mine only has a white wire with plastic on end, a thermister. Also its unclear how many it has. The diagnostic test pulls up 5 . All but number 5 show P- pass. Number 5 shows O. But enclosed with refrig sheet says number 5 is NA. My issue is it doesnt cool. Its a new non warranttied refrig sold to me as is. I replaced capacitor and overload relay. All fans/ lights/ display screen work. Tested pins/ windings on compressor as well as for grounding. All tests within normal ranges
