Very nice work indeed and you do make it look so easy. To a lot of people, having the date window is a plus but without the date window it gives the watch symmetry and balance like an older submariner. If James Bond pulled up his sleeve and this watch was sitting on his wrist, it would not look out of place. I’m certainly subscribing to your channel.

This looks great mate. The only thing I'd change is having a bracelet with end links that integrate a bit better. I'm not a fan of the flat ones that leave a gap. I've still to build up the courage to try modding... The closest I've got is changing out a clasp 🤭

Before I got my cushion, I made one using an old burgundy scotchbrite pad and a Robertson's jam jar lid cutting the pad so it tucked in nicely round the lid's inner lip then I put a bit of glue down inside and bingo bango a DIY cushion that won't do damage if you don't scour it into the pad material.

The GMT doesn't use a Seiko movement. It might be a ETA 2893 clone? Or a clone of a clone but those are the dials I'd look at.
@PINKFL0YD-s2h4 жыл бұрын
With the 4th hand I'd say the hole is bigger on the GMT. it is easy to make it a little bit bigger with a new small bit by hand if that's tile only problem. If you find an alternative post it. I collect GMT'S and want to mod some. Tnx
@duckrutt4 жыл бұрын
@@PINKFL0YD-s2h The ETA is a smaller diameter movement. The feet and date window won't line up with a Seiko dial. I don't have one of their GMT watches so I can't give you a dial diameter but you'll need to know that too before picking out a replacement.

You should see me getting very sweary with the red plinth on my homebrew Amphibia build video, it destroyed three second hands and the last one I had I put in with a tweezer end, it did the main hands like a champ but not second hands :( I was at the point of chucking red plinth, Vostok bits and everything else at the wall towards the end and had a right ol' rant on WUS forums till kind people soothed me temper hehe

Based on your video I have got a Pagani GMT...Very happy with it, but the cyclops is slightly out of alignment....I want to take it right off, is it really necessary to take the bezel off or do you think it would be safe to heat the cyclops with the bezel in place...I could put something heat proof like aluminium foil over the bezel...What would your advice be?
@watchmewithwatches4 жыл бұрын
You can get away with it, but be very careful as the heat could scorch the white paint in the bezel. I would be thorough. Ultimately taking the bezel out and resticking it would prevent any damage at all. You could buy a new bezel if you want to do another mod from dlw mods. get the sloped skx bezel, they do different color options if you want to change it at all. Use hypocement (or supplied stickers with a new bezel) to restick!

@watchmewithwatches4 жыл бұрын
The movement would require a dial that is compatible with the GMT movement. DG5833GMT is the movement code. Hands too, as long as they are compatible. I would look at mywatchcode on aliexpress. They sell a wide variety of parts. The bezel adjustment is not something I am familiar with, and adjustment is something I haven't tried yet. Bezel inserts are all I have dabbled in bezel wize.
@nyyyard3 жыл бұрын
You shouldnvt have used the DLW insert as it is slightly too thick. It's about 1.1mm thick. Most sloped inserts from aliexpress are 0.6mm and fit seamlessly into the bezel...
