Thanks for tuning into the series! If you made it this far, just want to give you a special shout-out for watching through the whole process! And congrats if this if your first jump into 3D character animation! I am happy to be alongside you for the ride. Please feel free to stick around for a while, and leave a comment let me know what you’d like to see more of! I have many ideas for blender content going forward. Very excited to see what the future has in store for the channel!

Just wanted to thank you again for this excellent tutorial. I have started to work with Blender about 6 weeks ago and I could follow without problems (except for very few instances, but I always could work out what was going on). Should you be interested to see the result, here a short turn-around on my YT channel (since I don't have Instagram): kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp_coHqZmp6BeK8

Thank you so much for the tutorials I really enjoyed following you while you created the character For me it is about jumping into the water, trying to make short videos and learn the basics. I would love it if you could expand on the benefits of auto rig pro, in addition, if you are looking for an idea of how to continue the series, I would love if you could do a tutorial that explains how to make a character speak and make some basic expressions. Thank you!

Simon Bam! Massive Thanks for doing this series, bro...super thorough & packed with the essentials. I just downloaded AutoRig Pro as a work saver. But I really like the possibilities with shape keys. Everything you’ve covered so far is very useful. As soon as I stop tripping over my newbie shoelaces I’ll send you some stuff. Outstanding content...I hope you go far. ✊🍺🎩🎩🎩

Thank you !! 8:54 I was wondering why my eyes, ears, eyelashes, eyebrows, whatever was a separated object... would not follow the head of my model... and I had been checking many bigger youtubers without find this explained, or at least I was not able to understand how to do it until now. Was using the automathic weights to parent all, and getting very confusing results

The eye brows are not moving with the rig but they are part of the mesh object that is moving? Is this something I can recalculate? (update: not sure what I did but I fixed with Weight Painting. No more rebellious eye brows)

Thank you so much. I created my first character while I uses this as a guideline. So helpful. You have a new subscriber. One question tho. I made the hair with a nurbspath and a circle. However when I use ctrl p and select with automatic weights.. The hair won't move with the head and everything else. Just like your ears and eyes which you corrected. I tried the same but it didn't work for me. Is it because I made the hair differently? How can I fix this? Right now I made the hair convert to mesh and patented it to the body.is that an idea? I wanted to check it out but when I do the same as you: parent it to automatic weights. But then the face changes of my character. How can I fix this?

Another great video my friend! Question everything is working fine but for some reason my characters eyebrows aren’t moving with the rig. The eyebrows and body are part of the same object(can go into edit mode and both are editable they looked joined but are still moving separately from the rig.. Any ideas how to fix that?
@FruitZeus3 жыл бұрын
Great question. Sometimes the weight painting doesn’t calculate perfectly. Select the eye brows and go into edit mode, then go to the vertex groups, then assign the eye brows to the “Head” group. All the bone weights are controlled by vertex group. So basically find whatever bone you want them attached to, and there will be a vertex group reflecting the same naming convention as the bones. Just assign those vertices with 100% weight to that vertex group.

Thank you for this series which suits me perfectly for what I want to do! however, do you show how to "attach" material to the character to make the material follow with the character? (helmet, tools, ..) thank you again!
@FruitZeus3 жыл бұрын
This might be a suitable topic for one bonus video maybe? 🤔 Nevertheless, it’s quite simple. For a helmet, use the same method I showed for attaching eyes and ears just parent to a specific bone. For holdables such as weapons or phones or pencils, do the same except parent it to the hand bone! For an added bonus, under the constraints tab for the object you want to hold, you can add a “Child Of” constraint, target the armature first, then the specific bone “hand.R” or something. This works the same way except now you have the influence slider which works as a toggle off / on for holding and dropping an item! 🤘

I'm currently implementing this shape key/custom properties/drivers combination. One thing I discovered is that you can do that across different objects. Example: My eye-brows are separate objects from the main face. It is possible to drive an eye-brow shape key through a main face custom property. That way I have access to all shape keys through the custom properties of the main face, even though brows, eyes, lids and pupils all are separate objects with their according shape keys. Perhaps well known, if not it might be of help to somebody.
