Quick question: Say I make the sword and now I want to export it as a game asset. The applied sub-d modifier makes this object pretty dense in terms of vertices, faces etc. What are the next steps for reducing the polycount? Thanks

You have a few options! Once the model is complete, you can apply the subdiv to make it all real geometry. From there you can retopologize. Or you can just model Lowly from the start. Often times a sword or model especially if it’s not animated as a skeletal mesh, shouldn’t be as specific on topology.

I apologize for the confusion! I actually was thinking of recreating this tutorial for new versions of blender. But the truth is, the file does ship with my mouth by example, but you can easily change them out for your own mouth shapes. They’re just a placeholder so you can see how it works.

IM using this and I only seem to be able to make one swapper object? Meaning I can only apply it to one object so I can only do mouth or eyes but not mouth and eyes

Yes, correct! It’s per object. So if you want mouth and eyes, you’ll have to make a second object that has those swap shapes. You can have as many swapper objects in a scene as you want, but you can only have one swapper per object. So a character can have multiple objects “eyes”, “mouth”, “hand positions” etc

I actually disagree. I know this isn’t standard when it comes to retopology. That’s for sure. But this isn’t a Pixar rig meant to be be stretched like crazy. For the art style I do, I’ve never once had a problem with Quad Remesher. And when something does need tweaked like eye rings or mouth rings, I’ll be sure to fix those specifically important regions manually.

Sure! It helps you get the original shape. From there you can puff it out with either the grab or inflate brush as needed

THis was a fantastic tutorial. In the last week ive watched loads of tutorials on many different aspects of blender. This has been the most concise, easy to follow along and somehow least boring too. I bought your add on but actually this was so well explained you really dont need to. I can totally see how to do eyes in the same way. Hi Logan, I just try out the new version of FZ Randomizer 4.0 at my Blender 4.1, i found out that when i try to render 50 pieces of animation variant, it turns out i'm rendering the same variant 50 times, i wanted to have 50 unique different variant so i try to play around the settings but still ends up getting the same variant result, is there a tutorial updates on how to get the correct settings?

Hi, I'm really thankful for this tool, it will make it possible for me to gather the funds I need for surgery so I wanted to personally thank you :) Also, I think I'm doing something wrong cause it renders every single trait all together in each variant, I imagine it has to do with enabled and disabled collections/objects but can't pinpoint what cause if I do that it comes out all black... should everything be disabled except for the proxy or maybe I'm placing the light sources in the wrong place? thanks a bunch!

Most of the time I will just use it right out of the gate. But there’s times where I try a few times / do some adjustments to get the topology as best as it can be.
