They really shot themselves in the foot with not allowing this on dolphin. I have multiple wiis, a wii u, and the physical game, and its simply not worth the time and space to have this set up when I can just run dolphin, have it run and look better, and play retro rewind. I really think CTGP could have blown up during covid if not for this poor decision. I hope they change their stance on this in the future.

yeah, it really is a shame, it would open it up for a lot more players since you can only get old versions of CTGP without the disc.

@@JamesLikesToGame after you have downloaded ctgp, can you take out the sd card? and if you cant, can you take out the sd card and add more mods onto the wii?

@@geographylol4794 Even when CTGP has been installed. It's best to keep your SD card in the console so it can load it correctly and without breaking it (trust me, I had to learn this the hard way). But you can take it out the SD card if you're planning add more mods to it. E.g adding Riivolution and Mario Kart Wii Deluxe to your SD card. As long as you've got enough storage for it. You should be good!

I have a question. I know it’s been months since you made this video and I’m just beating Mario kart Wii. I was wondering if there was a way I could get ctgp without the disc? Because I tried a bunch of different ways and they never worked

Unfortunately, there is no other methods to play CTGP without the game disc in the console. I've heard ways of getting CTGP working (like with USB loader, but I cannot verify nor have tested it for myself too. So take it with a grain of salt) other than that, there's simply no other methods it provides on the website and this Tutorial assumes you do have a working MKWii game disc on hand and can read with no problems. Sorry I cannot be helpful here...

@@mylajones2629 1. Do you have an SD card adapter that you can use? And 2. Do you have any other mouse you can use or purchase one any mouse will work. Alternatively, if you are on a Laptop. You can just the trackpad on it, to basically achieve the same result.

I’ve only used the Homebrew channel option as it’s easier. So I can’t really say much about the other options unfortunately or what advantages they have compared to choosing the homebrew channel option.

@@FarmersGaming24 There’s an apps folder already included in the zip file when you have extracted it. No need to create one copy and paste the files exactly how it is done in the video and if you done everything correctly. It will load correctly!

Do i need a physical disc of mario kart wii or can i use a rom that i installed on my homebrew wii?

@@ChroniclZ You need the physical disc, there is technically a way to getting it working with I think USB loader GX but I can't confirm as I’ve only played this mod using the actual game disc itself.

Hi,i got an issue I followed every step but once install update is complete it tell me to restart the ctgp channel then it bring me back to the language selection screen 🤨

@@pokemonnftslegendary4065 That’s strange. Try and go through the setup process again, and if it does it again like mentioned. Try another SD Card or redownload CTGP Revolution again. I’ve never seen this happen to be honest. Try and do those steps.

I have the homebrew channel installed and installed all the files but when I go into the channel it says cgbt but when I click on it it says cgbt rivlliton is not installed on the sd card ?

@@sturridge-daniel Put the Riivolution files on the SD card and launch it again. If doesn’t work and continues to show that. Try and reinstall the files and see if that works. If not, try a different SD card, copy the files there and see if works for you then.

Hi, I downloaded the newest one, but it is missing the riivolution folder! Also, when i try to load it through homebrew channel, it loads, and then never reaches preparing SD. It just stays on a black screen until I hold the power button.

If you still have all the files right now check to see if all the files (including the riivolution folder) is there. If it is there, then try and re copying the files to the SD card you are using again and see if anything has changed. My other assumption is the SD card itself you are using, if you got any other SD cards you can try it with. Try that and see what happens. One other solution is to download the mod again from the website and then verify if all files are present. Let me know if this has or hasn't improved.

So I’ve had it on my Wii for around two years which works, but I was just wondering if there’s a way to transfer CTGP onto another SD card because the SD card it’s currently on ran out of space I was just wondering if there was a way to get more space to let it update

@@41studs To my knowledge, the only way to get more space for CTGP to update. Is to get another SD card and transfer everything from the current one to a new one and then proceed to update CTGP from there. Alternately, you can also delete anything on that current SD card, that you don’t use anymore. (back it up just in case you do decide to put it back on the SD card later) so maybe have a look through on either the homebrew channel or your computer to see what can be deleted and what stays. (Note: the first method is untested by me, so I can’t confirm whether that method will be successful, do it at your own risk.)

@@yeazimon The other method is to use USB Loader GX or other methods of getting CTGP working. Other than that, I don’t really know what else I can do to help you with that.

@@sturridge-daniel Nope. Your existing license and save file remains the same by it when launching CTGP. Can confidently say that and confirm from my own experience playing the mod.
