True story. My friend lived in a camper van when he worked in the oil fields and stored a lot of his cash in there so he had about 60 grand in cash just an envelopes in one of the drawers. Last summer he went to sell it and was showing it to people who are interested when somebody found the envelopes pocketed them and ran and only later did we realize what happened. After pleading with the guy and doing whatever we could talking to the police etc. A couple days later he calls up my friend and asked if it's okay if he can stop by again because he feels really guilty. My friend says sure when can you be here and the guy said I'm literally down the street when it was like a 2-hour drive to begin with. He ends up returning all the money and explaining that his sobriety sponsor and his pastor and our messages guilted him into not being able to live with himself and he doesn't know what came over him but he knew he just had to return the money. Without for sure he would never see that money back because paper cash is hard to trace especially for small town cops.

I did something similar many years ago, I was really drunk (I don't drink anymore). I started damanging a fence with my bare hands of a business near a bar (I was a young man and very strong back in those days). I didn't even realize I was doing it, and I had no motive at that business in particular, I was probably just depressed/lonely and the alcohol brought my actions. I only became aware when the owner heard me and threatened to call the police. So I can believe the man who broke the window because like I said I never damage property like this before the incident and i had no reason to do it.
@KA-eu9sy3 жыл бұрын
I disagree. The guy should have fessed up to the police and the owner. Come out and say his name and pay for the damages after finding out how much it was. His drunken act...what if it hit a person? When he's charged for the crime, judge would have said to him that he needs to go to quit drinking and go to alcohol counselling. If he does that and have no recollection, what else did he do before or going forward. Yes, apology and paying up is good. But going through the system is the proper channel. Glad to see the young man didn't get arrested. I'm trying to figure out how he got away that night. No one from the pizza place went outside?? The guy from the restaurant is cool. 🤝
