Great tour as always Tom. Love this area of NYC, it is losing it's style as you rightfully pointed out, but the spirit is still there. Have you heard of Nelson Sullivan? He was essentially vlogging from 1983 until 1989, all through NYC but primarily in the East Village. His estate posted hundreds of hours of 80's NYC on KZbin, a rabbit hole worth going down. Great footage of the eccentric side of NYC that seems to be fading. You're getting an extra tip in person when I take your tour for name dropping Brian Eno. (now I'm on an Eno kick, listening to Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy) .

McSorley's Ale House I use to frequent the place back in the 70s & '80s when I lived on 92nd St between Central Park West and Columbus Ave. Beer with a plate of cheese and onions was the standard fare. Women were not allowed until the 1970s. When women were allowed the establishment welcomed them by putting a sign on the Bathroom door that read Coed Bathroom. I've always wondered what the women thought of the row of urinals they had in the men's/coed room when you first walked in after it turned Coed. Just for context Phil I remember, when I Heart/Love New York first came out in 1977.
