If possible can you show some remote computer tickets from home. I would like to see how it would look like to troubleshoot remotely and fix issues. Example for someone who wants to work remotely as IT support.
@EastCharmerАй бұрын
We don't get a lot of those anymore but will try to compile those kind of issues.
@dj_paultuk705224 күн бұрын
Mirroring User account security is a rookie 1st line mistake. Never do that, or assume they just need the HR drive. That can often lead to users getting access to folders they should not have access too. Only apply Drives / Shares as approved by their Line Manager on the support ticket. Ie. They may only have approval for the HOLIDAY folder within a HR share and no other folders.
@EastCharmer23 күн бұрын
Of course everything has to go through approval. And we follow what's on the ticket. But based on my experience, in the ticket the managers would always say mirror this member's access unless the explicitly say they just need this folder. And of course in real world they will be trained on the company policies with user accounts so we can't also assume that it's not done in the workplace just because we have a different experience.This is really interesting in IT. We can't always say in the comments that "you shouldn't do this" "you should do that". It also boils down to the company policies coz not every workplace is the same. This is just an example to simulate an issue. That's why I also explained in a previous video about NTFS permissions where it's more specific

I'm confused, I thought that no one should have Full Control? I noticed this when you were adding the user to the HR workgroup and seen the permissions that account had.
@jhondysuarez3498Ай бұрын
Full control for files pertaining to HR…Meaning read write and execute permissions.

It was just for the HR folder and that is fine. But yeah we don't give full control for the actual Shared Network folder

for 'workstation trust relationship' error. is required to troubleshoot and approach this kind error while your having live chat with the user?
@EastCharmerАй бұрын
hhmm if the user is having this issue, you really have to troubleshoot it immediately as they're not able to log in at all. But it depends on the scenario too. If the user is remote, it's harder to troubleshoot this because you have to log in with the local admin account and also need to connect to the company network to rejoin the domain. So if they're remote, it's best to have them bring the computer in
