So when you open the files in Affinity does that automatically VECTORIZE the illustrations created in Procreate? So in other words we don’t need the IMAGE TRACE feature that Adobe Illustrator uses to convert drawings to vectors? Please confirm. I’m a bit confused. Thanks.

Agreed I’m a little lost

Opening the image in Affinity will not vectorize it. Affinity does not yet have this feature (as of Nov. 2022). Inkscape (free open source software) can do this. I don’t recall what the feature is called in Inkscape, but it can convert raster to vector. If you want to use Affinity instead of Adobe or Inkscape, you can trace (vectorize) in Inkscape, then import the traced (vectorized) image into Affinity. - As to why she is importing into Affinity I am unclear on her purpose, but she mentioned working on the go with Procreate, then working at home on the computer, but that workflow might be better served with Affinity on the iPad instead of Procreate. A reason to use Procreate and Affinity both: If wanting to use features available in Affinity that are not in Procreate. For example, she mentioned creating a pattern, which may be done in Affinity- but perhaps not as easily in Procreate?

When you import your designs into Affinity Designer what are those then? Vector graphics or still pixel grafics? How do you work with them after importing?

Hi love your videos! To use Procreate and affinity designer together would you create the design I Procreate and assemble it in affinity designer to create patterns?
@lhawkins406 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video! I got really excited with this video I would love to learn how to draw from scratch and make patterns and birthday cards and repeat patterns utilizing this with Affinity Designer. I really like this app, but I really don’t know how to use it, so I have been doing and experimenting in Affinity since I don’t know how to take advantage of the app. Thank you for your creative videos, you always bring something new and fun?

Thanks! I will be doing some more videos on procreate in the future. Have you checked out the new Affinity Designer iPad app? It's really great and extremely similar to the desktop version.

East Coast Charm No, but I am excited that it has came out and will download so I can keep working on my illustration and pattern making. I really enjoy your tutorials andI see in Procreate that they have a symmetry tool so I will experiment!

pleaaaase show more on the affinity designer iPad app.. also is it possible to transfer a log I created in AD to procreate ?
@EastCoastCharm5 жыл бұрын
More iPad videos coming soon. I'm not sure about the transfering from AD to procreate. I'll have to try it and let you know.

I dont understand. Is your painting a vector now or not.
@EastCoastCharm5 жыл бұрын
Nothing created in procreate is a vector. They're all raster based designs.

I’m interested in the work that you do in affinity why have you brought it in?

East Coast Charm curious if you’ve found a trace function to vectorize a raster image from procreate? I’m trying to find this out before I purchase it - love love love procreate but it looks like I need to convert a lot of my work into vectors for larger prints ect... I know AI has that functionality, but I’m staying away from Adobe products now that they’ve made it impossible to use without a subscription, and also made it impossible to use older versions...

East Coast Charm - I had the same question as the person above ... After you transfer your Procreate drawings to Affinity how do you VECTORIZE them or does Affinity do that automatically? In your video for example were your final image / drawings in Affinity in a vector format or not? That’s the part that’s confusing me and some other viewers too it seems. Could you please clarify this? Thanks!

Hi, great video! I notice you mentioned uploading to a drop shipping site or print on demand... how would this work with a drop shipping site? Do you mean physical prints would be sent or a particular item that you have had printed on? I’m a novice when it comes to creating revenue from your work, but something i’m really interested in... also if you have any tips about print on demand sites, do you get to sample the products before they get printed? Incase of manufacturing issues or quality??

How do you do it the other way? Going from Affinity designer to Procreate? I drew something in AD an then exported it to png. When I add it to procreate drawing its in color but when I try to use it for a brush face its gray scale :-(

How do you save your work on procreate in stacks?? Meaning say I draw 12 cats…can I then save them in a folder called cats on procreate? I am just learning this app on my iPad mini and I love it!!
@EastCoastCharm6 жыл бұрын
In the gallery, at the top right hit the select button. Then select anything that you'd like grouped together and click stack.

Is it good to use Astropad, too?
@EastCoastCharm6 жыл бұрын
Yes, Astropad is a great tool for working directly in Affinity with your iPad. Is it something you're interested in learning more about?

I would definitely be interested in learning how to makes at least 3 clip areas and transfer to cards in Affinity Designer there’s no tutorial for this technique I have been searching lol 😊
@EastCoastCharm6 жыл бұрын
Sorry for taking so long to reply. Do you mean like 3 layers or three documents in procreate? You can only have one artboard/document at a time. Although, you can export multiple documents at once.
@lhawkins406 жыл бұрын
Yes I mean 3 layers and then making cards, do you know a perfect size to work in to maintain great resolution from Procreate because I know it’s a raster program and do not want pixels also when exports which websites would you recommend for making stationary and thank you 😊
@EastCoastCharm6 жыл бұрын
@@lhawkins40 I'll make a video next week. :) Use at least 300 dpi in Procreate. I like to use a bit higher of a dpi if possible. The larger the size and dpi the fewer layers you can use though. I find it best to use the same size as the card/project or a bit larger if you are potentially going to use it for something else. I don't like going too large because the more you have to scale down the artwork the more detail in the brushes you'll lose in the final print. As far as stationery websites: Moo, Cat Print, Got Print, and Vista Print. I've used them all for personal and business. My favorites would be Moo and Cat Print. If you want to sell stationery, Cat Print will even drop ship so that you don't have to keep stock.

I don’t have a Mac or Astropad, I use my new IPad Pro and my PC, so google drive works for me.
