@@roberttaylor90y76 I have left lots of hints for GNER but none have been responded to, sadly. You can slow them right down by using the settings on KZbin but they do then become a little jerky.

Filmed Sunday October 20th 2019 on a training run. Leuchars, Inverkeillor, Craigo, Laurencekirk & Stonehaven signals all off - boxes switched out. I photographed the train as it arrived at Dundee & can be seen on top of the wall at 3:40 taking the photo.
@dodgydruid4 жыл бұрын
The last vestiges of physical signalling gone there too? The march of "progress" which saw all the lever frames replaced by small power frames, then they too went in favour of more regional centres, Network Rail's plan is to end all signalling outside of Euston House where every signal will be controlled by clerks reducing whole lines to zero staff presence save the driver of a train. Its gotten so bad that in inner cities crime has spiralled out of control whether robbing of cables and fixtures to criminals preying with impunity on passengers knowing the chances of being caught are zero. My late father ran all the way down the line from North Kent Jnc signalbox to St Johns the night of the disaster as did every person from New Cross, Nunhead, Lewisham and other stations and boxes... what would the response time be of today where the nearest staff member is like 30 mins away in a car???
@hosk644 жыл бұрын
@@dodgydruid Still plenty traditional signal boxes alive & well on the route. Between Edinburgh/Aberdeen there are 11 lever frame boxes still in operation, with Dundee in the middle a panel box & Aberdeen at the North end also a panel box.

Hi LNER, thanks for posting this - it's really different seeing the route from the cab! However, myself among others would like rather much to see a real-time version of these videos. Would you be so kind as to post a couple of real-time videos? Thanks again.

What is the music used in these LNER cab ride time lapse videos? Just find it really relaxing to listen to. Great video too btw, really hope to make these journeys to both Aberdeen and Inverness from King’s Cross at some point in the future. Edit: Just found out who did the music thanks to the power of Shazam!

What on earth happened to that beautiful station at Montrose? Such a shame to see the ornate buildings reduced to joyless plastic and concrete bus stops. Nice to see the Forth bridge in its majesty, once upon a time, I went on a visit there with me BR dad whose mate of long standing arranged a visit to the painting crews, my father was up there for interview to take over Waverley Signalling Manager which he got and the unions blocked outright due to him being a SR signalman, it was then OK for ScR to transfer to SR but not the other way round :( BR did offer him an AM post and then a post at Euston House but me father had enough, took early retirement and his 1st class PT and went to work at Swanage Railway. Every year we spent two holidays tramping around old abandoned Scottish lines, whether the Glenogle line, or down and nosing about Crieff, to walking the Augustus and Ballahulish lines or drinking tea with the Forfar to Perth driver until that too was closed.
