EastEnders - Mark Fowler dies (14th April 2004)

Pauline has gone to Bognor Regis with Derek, Dot, Jim, Yolande and Patrick- thus leaving Martin to answer the long-awaited call announcing Mark's death. Unfortunately for Martin, he was never told about Mark's deteriorating health, so is understandably shocked.

Did you d ever see the footage of Todd Carty ( actor who.played Mark Fowler) when he was in that celebrity ice skating show ..OMG one of the truly funniest things I' he seen on live tv...If you haven't seen it I think it might b ecalled Dancing On Ice..the Gamma Collins one was even worsd..like!e watching Dumbo the elephant in a leotard 😂

Sonia and Martin were more realistic of a couple than Stacey and Martin. Martin in the end in my mind made the wrong choice between Stacey and Sonia

I like the new actor playing the more maturer Martin, he cops flack from Stacey but he loves her through and through. Why is it when ever you hear a Vixen in a programme, something bad is going to happen?

Sonia/Martin weren’t without their flaws (especially in 2005/2006, when Rebecca/Chlo. squabbles and Naomi soured things between them) but as an overall couple they had more synergy than Startin. I’ll give them that.

mark could have lived longer... I would have thought the drugs would have been enhanced enuf for Mark to survive from mid 90s to early 00s. I would guess Mark was just extremely unlucky.

Todd Carty, I who played Mark, actually disagreed with the storyline. He felt Mark had many years left... as someone he based the character on lived a lot longer. Mark only tried 3 combinations of HIV drugs so the storyline was unrealistic in that sense. Patients go on to try more combinations than three! He was angry that Mark was killed off too early & felt like it took hope away from the real people suffering from HIV, he very much hoped that Mark's storyline didn't make HIV patients give up hope that their lives could be long & successful.
