Sharon was a really good friend to Pat
@kyachdistent13015 жыл бұрын
I know. I'd forgotten. It was really great to see how they've grown. Pat was real caring to her in the early days in the fall of Angie and Den, and now here Sharon is, going to see shark Ian off her own back and demanding he do the right thing and threatening to drop slut Cindy in it and make things difficult for his kids. It's great to see the support both her and Pauline are giving her in these episodes. Pat was angry, bitter and a troublemaker when she first arrived in the square, but mellowed quickly, long before she got control of the Vic. One of the first people to actively welcome and enthuse about gay neighbour Colin Russell (much missed dude). Loved it when she told Den in prison when he said about having to go for a man if desperate, but he couldn't do it-"don't knock it till you've tried it". Class!

I always held great respect for Sharon, even as a teen she was a good businessman and a fair person. I have always liked the character and Letitia plays her so well. Still beautiful too.. ❤
@kyachdistent13015 жыл бұрын
"You can't eat students, there's some sorts of law against it" (Pat). Once upon a time-humour! And Letitia Dean is absolutely stunning in this tense and classy scene with Ian when she takes him to task over what Pat 'owes' him. She's not nonplussed by any of his stinging remarks about him defending his business and how Pat knows the score, just cool, calm and collected, but bringing with her the promise of making things tough for him if he dares to insist upon the interest and the 'interest on the interest'. It's a heavy scene the likes of "Spooks" and "Line Of Duty" could be proud of.

Don't watch Eastenders but have actually made a habit out of watching these classics and I've got to say from observing this. and reading Pat's wiki, she was such a crap mother. Even when her sons are grown up and trying to explain to her what her actions when they were children did to them, she shows no emotion and doesn't even say she's sorry for the shit start she gave them. She doesn't even go after her son to talk to him and help resolve their issues, instead she goes off galavanting with a kid that isn't even hers and drives off without her son. She didn't even bother going to look for him to check he was ok. Such a cold woman.

The actress who plays Pat said she thought Pat spent all her later life trying to make up for being a lousy mother. She takes on Ricky without a second thought, and treats him like her own kid. She even sticks with Janine despite Janine constantly smacking her, killing people etc. In 2008 she takes on Bianca and all her kids too, and Deano and Carly (her random ex- neice and nephew in law back in 2006.) I think it's real character growth, but I get what you mean. I think if we saw her being a shit mother on screen we wouldn't like her nearly as much.
@gabriellecurtis24242 жыл бұрын
@@l0ndon429 yes this is why I didn't get David giving her a hard time about it on her deathbed. Thought they'd worked through it when he lived with her in this era and she'd made up for it by taking care of his kids and grandkids while he was off doing whatever he was doing in the 00s
