Same here with my mom and guess what…. Now I’m taking care of here because she is ill. I pray to God everyday for patience and understanding. For me to forgive her everyday because it has brought back all the trauma she caused. Prayer is what helps me everyday. I hope everyone who has had bad relationships can heal through prayer. It will be good for your heart and mind.God bless everyone. Becky thank you for sharing with us. It really does feel like we are there with you two.

@@StephRank I know! I heard that and was like dannngggg not only is the immediate family super nice but the extended family is nice too!! Lol it’s rare nowadays to find family that close and actively in each other’s lives. Life, distance, relationships, drama, so many factors create physical and emotional separation nowadays it’s really refreshing to see a family still so close. My mom was 1 of 9 kids and we had huge family picnics multiple times a summer, holidays were always spent together, but as life got hectic they started happening less and less. Once my grandma died they were even fewer, once my mom died when I was 19 I don’t think we’ve had another family picnic all of us together and I’m 37. It’s honestly a shame my son and niece and nephew are growing up in such a different way then I did. I’m still very close with 1 of my aunts, live within walking distance and talk daily. She was always like a 2nd mom to me and now I take care of her like she is my mom. My sister and I are very close and make sure our kids have that close cousin bond. But I can go years without seeing some of my own cousins. It’s crazy to me how much a death can change the entire family. I feel like after my mom passed my cousins were scared to talk about their parents, or show happy times in front of me. It was weird. So yeah, I really like seeing such a close knit, down to earth, loving family on KZbin.

Re: the pineapple. Its the enzyme bromeline (might be wrong spelling) that gives the slight stinging sensation - it can break down proteins which is why pineapple is good for tenderizing meat :D And when you cut the pinapple you break some cells and make it open to the air - both things that help break down the bromeline. Cheers from the chemistry teacher xD

I have a very good relationship with my parents but watched my dad struggle maintaining a relationship with HIS parents. My mom's parents didn't live close, thus I lacked in the grandparent experience for myself. I'm a grandparent now and I'm striving to be the best grandmother ever! Greetings to Becky Josh and all the extended family. When we were kids my mom did all the cooking for us, but she never enjoyed it all that much. I loved cooking since I was 12 so little by little I would ask her how she made this or that and slowly over time she delegated (gladly) the food preparation over to me. In the 58 years since then wherever I was I seem to always 'take over' cooking responsibilities. So, although I'm not a mom, I know how important it is to KEEP TRACK of everyone's likes and dislikes and all the major occasions. I admire all the folks who do this for us and it brings a smile to my face to see Becky's Mom and Mother-in-law take care of the brood and Becky is following in their footsteps. Love to all From Oaxaca JIM

I really enjoy watching you cook with your mom and sisters, it gives me a peek into the lives of daughters, mothers and siblings that get along and love each other. My mother wasn't a daughter person she much preferred my brothers over me. I Adore my mother in law she is the absolute best mother in law a woman can ask for. Growing up with a mother who didn't want girls was really hard, because no matter how good I was, or what I did it was just never good enough for her to even say she loved me, and that was all I ever wanted was for her to love and be proud of me. Becky, you are so lucky to have grown up knowing that you are LOVED and that your parents are proud of you. My mother taught me absolutely nothing to prepare me for life as an adult, she didn't teach me how to cook or clean, or do laundry. I knew how to care for children, because I basically became a mother to my brothers at like 9 or 10 years old. She was there but it was my job to take care of them and make sure that they were safe and unharmed. I taught myself everything else after I married my first husband.

I bought marigolds one year. And never bought them again so easy to collect their seeds for every season I just sprinkle them around the pots and they grow easily

Perogies are so easy, cheap and fun to make from scratch. They freeze well. I’d love to see you make them. I make them with my vegetarian daughter.we eat them slathered in carnelized onions and sour cream. We complete that dinner with with sliced tomatoes , cucumbers and baked beans. One of the favorite dinners

The Costco looks like a combination of the Lidl and the Makro over here in the Netherlands. Everything is in boxes in the fridge for example. Lidl is where I buy my bulk stuff and fresh produce. I also have problems with fresh pineapple, hopefully your tip will help in the future!

What helped me a ton is peeling the pineapple and washing it (plus the knife and board) under running water, dry it with paper towels. Most of the enzyme is inter peel so this helps a lot!

I love seeing you and your Mom together having fun. It reminds me of my childhood with my mother and grandmother-they had fun together and I had fun with both of them all the time. I just got really nostalgic and emotional. ♥️

For Korean foo I suggest maangchi‘s cookbook. The first one is very basic for Korean cooking beginners, the second one is more full meals. Both are amazing!

So enjoy these videos with your Mom . My Husband & I have both been parentless now for quite a few years . This is the weekend of April 23 & 24th - we had a huge storm last week & we are in the midst of another one . Afterwards we are supposed to have a couple nites of between minus 15 & minus 20 so still feels very much like winter here in Manitoba .
