Dachshunds are the one of the longest living breeds we volunteer at a Dachshund rescue and this past summer we had to put down a permanent rescue at the rescue this dog Woody was too dangerous to adopt out to people but he lived a great long life on the farm and he got to keep all the the wild animals away from the farm and protect the the farm animals and he lived to be 21 years old

This happened to my grandma. Her husband my grandpa passed away and I believe within a few days their poodle which was either 20 years old or just shy of 20 passed away. That dog was my grandpa’s shadow. Followed him everywhere.
