Nigel, I have a question for you. I am a med student and I am from a poor family and I was saving money to buy my first alto saxophone from the best european shop Thomann and I have got my saxophone and it's been 2 months since I've started learning how to play and it's getting better and better every day. I am watching your KZbin videos and doing jams with you and I use the free locker on your website to learn but there are not so much lessons. I don't have money and I don't earn money so unfortunately I can't afford buying a year access to your Sax School and it's a pity because I love your way of teaching and you are the best teacher out there in the internet and you helped me to learn my first notes, my 12 major scales that I am still practising, to jam along with you, I learned some cool songs like Bella Ciao and even Happy Birthday and played it for my grandmas birthday and now I have a better embouchure (I don't know if I am writing it correctly) and I am very thankful for that, Nigel. But I don't have money to access your sax school for a year which is a pity because I practice 4 hours a day every sigle day and I feel like in 2 weeks time I will run out of lessons and ideas how to be better at playing sax. I won't have so much money to afford your school (If I will start working after finishing my university I am definitely buying an access and recommending your school for all of my friends who play sax or will start playing sax) and I can't afford a private teacher here in Poland where I live to have lessons every week because as I said my family does not have so much money and I don't earn money because I am a student and I was saving money for a long time to buy an alto sax and every tools needed for my sax and for cleaning my sax etc. Can you help me with finding some free resources to learn more and expand my studying? Do you have something to recommend for me? I would be very thankful. I am a professional bass guitar player and I play a lot of funk, country, rock, soul, jazz, blues and metal and I also play drums and guitar ( I have been playing these 3 instruments for 15 years and I am advanced pro player on bass and intermediate/advanced on drums and intermediate on guitar because I mostly play bass - between 4 and 10 hours a day, depends on the day and I only play drums on saturday and sunday and guitar just sometimes and just easy thing ) but being a professional bass player I know music theory and all the scales, modes, arpeggios, shapes, music genre stuff etc. and I would like to learn all of it on sax but I don't have money. Any recomendations? I know you can help me somehow or maybe I have to play the same things all the time and not progress and wait until I have enough money to study sax at your school and with private teacher? You can message me on KZbin if there's a possibility of sending messages on KZbin (I don't know that) and it would be better if you could reply to my e-mail which is braveviking97@gmail.com and if you can send me an e-mail with some recomendations and with maybe some links to free stuff with more scale studies, more exercises, modes, arpeggios, blues and jazz studying on alto sax (I bought sax because I LOVE JAZZ and I love Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane and many others that play free jazz or modal jazz), some pentatonic scales, improvisation lessons and how to start and progress etc. If you could be so nice and send me an e-mail to braveviking97@gmail.com (and I know you are a nice person because I can see it from you face and because of your engagement in teaching us) I WOULD BE VERY VERY VERY THANKFUL AND I AM THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU ALREADY DID AND THAT YOU GOT ME GOING ON MY ALTO SAX FOR THESE 2 MONTHS! I am practicing every day and I want to become a higly intermediate or even advanced alto sax player in the future and it's my dream to play in a jazz trio: drums, upright bass and alto sax or jazz quartet: drums, upright bass, piano and alto sax and I will play this alto sax of course but first I have to have some free resources available on the internet and some lessons and save money maybe for a year or more to buy access to your website to your school because I KNOW IT MUST BE AWESOME and I can't wait when I will have more money and I will be able to buy this access for a year and study every day for 2-4 hours depending on day. I am waiting for a contact from you and your recomendations. Thank you in advance! Love you and your lessons! But please help me!!!! :(

Love your videos! Just wish the full sheet music was showing on the screen when you play. Know you mix up the rhythms and notes and I was only taught to read sheer music for sax, hard for me to follow by ear.

It’s so challenging to play the notes by ear! If it’s written out then at least I know what notes to play 😊 ,of course I still usually go over it many times with the sheet music just to hit the right notes. That’s how usually learn a piece! Still this was a good learning experience!

Super inspiring and just right for my level at the moment! Will use on a daily basis for June/July. A lot of mileage in the three licks and pentatonics. Excellent. Been a sax school member for three years. Really worth it.

Love your lessons but, as an absolute beginner alto sax player, I find your combination with alto and tenor, I find it very confusing. Please, please, please have some lessons dedicated to purely one or the other.
