Live in Kerrville Texas! We were one of the towns directly in the path of a total eclipse. My favorite was the darkness, the quiet and how the temperature dropped. An inkling of what it would be like if we lived in darkness. I do wished it lasted longer, but very glad to have able to experience it. 🫥

It was magical! A group of us went up to Burlington, right on the banks of Lake Champlain and it really took my breath away (like this painting of yours!)! Glasses off for 4 minutes was just amazing to see planets and a faux sunset on the Lake, then it passed away, and folks were so energized and happy 😊

How I marvelled at your steady hand painting all those delicate lines! I have a ruling pen but have not mastered it ..I have to be content with random fat lines and splodges! This is so beautiful Gabrielle and captures the majesty of the moment, with or without the extra black ink. I was lucky enough to see the 1999 eclipse in Europe, they are truly incredible experiences. Love and light for your week ahead 🌞🌑 Bx 💙💫

I wonder if it would help for you to adjust the little screw on the side of your ruling pen? I feel like I was getting similar results until I played with adjusting the screw and then I found the sweet spot ☺️ Love and light to you my sweet friend ✨💕🤗 Thank you again for being here with me 💕❤️💕

Stunning! And I'm so happy to see the thumbnail for this video will help me find it when I want to watch it again. Could you please go back to using the finished piece as the thumbnail? I save so many of your paintings and it makes it hard to find the one I want when I can't tell them apart.
@gabrielleannacormierart6 ай бұрын
Hi Jeanne ❤️☺️ Thank you for your kindness and for sharing this input with me. I changed my thumbnails because YT has suggested that they make my videos less appealing to viewers 🤔 There is so much to take into consideration when creating my thumbnails that at times I feel like my head is spinning. 😂 Since the beginning of the year, I have started numbering my videos and hope this can offer a reference for you to look for. I'll run some tests to see how I can remedy this situation and I appreciate the heads up. 🤗
@jeanneminton52266 ай бұрын
@@gabrielleannacormierart Thank you so much for this explanation but I have to say, it's the last thing I would have expected. While I can't guide you as far as getting more views, I can say that KZbin gets so much wrong when they advise content creators. Your music is lovely but most art channels have awful music that's so distracting and it's even worse when the artist is speaking. If it's music only, I don't worry about muting the sound but sometimes they are actually giving useful tips so it's hard to mute sound and use KZbin's horrible closed captions. Some channels do stop using music when enough viewers complain but some just keep saying KZbin is advising them that music enhances their videos. As far as your channel is concerned, I'll store some screenshots if I need to identify saved videos because you're so talented, I don't want to miss a thing. 😊

@@jeanneminton5226 Thank you for making the time to share all of this with me! ❤🤗 Honestly, I don't think YT always gets it right either and the longer I'm here, the longer I wonder about their motivations. 😳 I do mean it when I say I'm going to try to find a way to resolve this that will work for as many people as possible. In the meantime, I will keep numbering my video this year. Thank you for being here with me and for giving me this feedback. I appreciate your kindness and helpfulness so much 💕🤗

This is beautiful! I especially love the whimsical curlicues. I have one question. The salt effect looks quite different on the background of the painting than it does on the moon, but in both instances I think you used fine grain salt. What explains the difference? I was wondering if maybe you sprayed some water over the salt after you applied it to the background to make that swept look, or if maybe it had to do with a blow dryer drying the paint? Thanks as always for sharing your creativity and talent with us.
@gabrielleannacormierart6 ай бұрын
Hi Teri Ellen ❤️☺️ Thank you so much for your kind words and for the question! 💕 From experience, it seems to be that the difference came mainly from the fact of having added more saturated watercolor over top my first layer. (You're right that I did use the same salt. 😉) I love the versatility of the salt as it does react differently in different stages of the painting process. ☺️ Whenever possible, I love to walk away and let the paper dry naturally after applying my salt over the paint. Whenever I try to rush the process along, I don't seem to get the same kind of effects. It's always fun to experiment though! 😉
@TeriEllen6 ай бұрын
Thank you for responding. I also love the tip about walking away and not being impatient about letting the salt do its thing. Your work is beautiful and always inspires me.

@gabrielleannacormierart just looked on eBay for a ruling pen and they have listings for A1, A2, A3 and A4 … nothing to do with metric paper sizes! By photos in listings the length of the pen changes but no mention of how that changes line thickness if at all. Any suggestions? Recommendations?
@gabrielleannacormierart6 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! I will do my best to answer to the best of my ability, but please keep in mind that ruling pens are very new to me also. As far as I know, the different sizes do change the thickness of the lines much in the same way different nib sizes do on fountain pens and regular pens. The ones I bought on Amazon (amzn.to/3xEMH1w) have different tip sizes but they are not numbered the same way you mention of the ones you found on EBay. The amount of ink or watercolor going through the tip can be controlled by adjusting the screw more or less tightly. There are other different types of ruling pens used in calligraphy and those seem more expensive but are probably also of a higher quality. I read a bit about them before making my purchase and most people seemed to say it wasn't necessary to buy anything too expensive. I hope this helps in some way! ☺️ You might be able to get more information by doing an online search on ruling pens as there is quite a bit of information out there and others who have been using them for much longer than me certainly would have more knowledge about these tools. If you find out anything helpful or interesting about them, please don't hesitate to share ❤️
