Wow! This video blew my mind because the way you explain it- so simple! I’ve worked with zippers before but I never really understood how to make a pouch. I never knew it was this easy!!!! Your sewing videos are THE BEST!!!!

Thelma writes: Erica, so sorry to hear you still have broken elbow. Hope it mends properly soon. I love your video on this cute pencil case, something a little different than quilting, mind you, I do love your quilting videos too. I made myself a QAYG travel case following your instruction on your orevious video and I made it slightly bigger, just slightly. I happened to have fusible foam on hand so I decided to use it to make the QAYG travel case. I am very pleased with the out come. Well done job on this pencil case, Erica. Always love watching your videos. ❤ 😍

I used your tutorial and made a pouch for cross stitch supplies to keep in my vinyl front project bag. I’m always afraid my scissors will poke the vinyl. The tutorial was so easy and my pouch turned out so cute. Thanks for this tutorial and the others you provide. ❤️

On some of my pouches, I've sewn a tab with a D-ring, or O-ring to clip inside any tote bag or a 3-ring binder. Most kids don't use binders anymore, but there's usually something to clip it to inside their backpacks/book bags. I've even sewn a wristlet to a few. Those were usually purchased for project bags/car bags

What is the quilters foam you use for the pouches as the stabilizer? Did not see it in the suggested links. Another great tutorial. Thank you.

What a cute pouch!! I’m definitely making a few of those. Also, I wanted to ask if quilting can be done with Tex 70 thread and size 18 needle? I have an industrial for bag making but it would be great if I could quilt on it too since my domestic is difficult for quilting. If you (or anyone in the chat) have any recommendations I’d really appreciate it! I can’t find answers anywhere on the internet.

You put all the supplies in the description box except the fusible foam, I'm a beginner so that's important to me. Now I have to Google about fusible foam. Cute pouch and I'm trying to do it.

I made my pencil pouch and it came out so cute..i wish I could post a picture on the comments, thank you, and made a quick trip to Walmart to buy the foam stabilizer..so many to choose.

Hi, the fusible foam information is below the video in the "show more" area. You can use any type of interfacing you like, the foam is nice because it's fusible and also a little squishy :)

Great tutorial! Just one question. Did you use a nylon zipper? I was just surprised to see you put a hot iron on it. I thought the nylon zipper would melt under the heat.
@leeleedel712 жыл бұрын
Hi Erica. Hope your healing up nicely! What kind of fusible foam do you use and do you like it better than fusible fleece? I normally use fusible fleece for my bags or home decor type things but I would like to have another option in case I can't get it. I've heard Soft and Stable is really good but I haven't used it yet. Thanks!! LeeAnne
