i never, ever comment on videos but this was such great one that I had to!! Great job!! I have watched a zilion videos to find how to make the perfect stand up zipper pouch and this is it! Many of the tutorials required a pattern or required that I cut the corners and sew strategically around the cuts, creating unnecessary work and time. Keep up the good work! Sew on sister!

I'm new to quilting ... literally 2 weeks ... and I've tried most of your different styles of bag now! I love that you're teaching us lots of mix and match ideas. Thank you so much, Erica, all the way from Wales, UK. (PS. Going to upgrade my cheap sewing machine now so I can really get stuck in.)

I made 4 of these (so far) and I love all of them. My first one I used the same size scraps as you did Erica. The 3 bags after I used a honey bun. They came out just as nice! The quilting did take some time but, totally worth it. Thank you for teaching me how to sew a zipper on! You are the best! Please keep up the tutorials for small projects like this.

I have made more recently for a birthday present for my mother-in-law. I made 2 of them. I followed the cutting directions for the first one. The second one I didn't cut down my jelly roll strips. I even left the pinked edges. I noticed the difference when not cutting down at all and leaving my strips at 2.5" the bag comes out wider as opposed to taller and narrow, if that makes any sense.🙃 They both came out great. 🥰

Erica Arndt , you're a great teacher so I'm sure it will help all your subscribers add to their skills. ❤️My granddaughters love this pouch and want to make one, they find the squares easier too, but it's great to know both methods!
@angelcargle4255 жыл бұрын
@@erica_arndt I actually prefer this boxing method over the cut out square way. You taught me to cut on the 45 degree angle. I realized that I had a clear cutting ruler that provided the diagram... it gave the option to cut it at several different inches. I had never used it before this video!

One question 🙋🏻♀️ do we see at a 1/4 in or 1/2” seam allowance when we see the side edges during the step when we add the small handle/ strap?
@erica_arndt3 жыл бұрын
I always use a 1/4" seam allowance because I'm a quilter, but you can use a 1/2" seam allowance as well, it will just make your bag a tad smaller :)
@loismeyer68512 жыл бұрын
I loved this, how difficult would it be to put tabs on the zipper? Just wondering...
@erica_arndt2 жыл бұрын
Not difficult at all! Just trim the zipper 1/2" shorter than the fabric panels, and add your tabs. Next, sew it together as shown in the video :)
