i tried playing this game and i just get yelled at and shit talked by my teammates. i was screaming at people that i am brand new to the game and to tell me what to do or teach me since i cant do anything, and everyone just shuts up and reports me at the end of the match. truly terrible experience.

I just have one thing to add : if you're a new player and want to only play bomb in quick match so you are ready for ranked, there is an option called "matchmaking preferences" in which you can select which game mode you want or don't want to play. i started playing 3 days ago, this shit is the chess equivalent of first person shooters. experienced players are super tough on new ones, but it’s not too hard to pick up. there’s a lot to think about and keep in mind when playing, but it all becomes habit and muscle memory. just keep playing, mute the lobby if they’re being super dicks and just get used to the operators you like. it gets fun, very fun.

The nitro cell heals your team place it down after prep phase and detonate it on your team it’ll finka boost them

100% the cell in nitro cell is a biological healing device, radius is short so be sure your friendlies are together before activating the boost

And remember that the impact grenades will revive your teammates from a distance, so when you see a teammate with a plus sign above them, throw one at them and they will get back up and be full health

Grass muffles your footsteps, so outside is a great place to hide and can help you get easy early kills.

Got to give big thanks for this video in general but also mentioning from the get go it's good for returning players too. I quit active playing after ember rise so this video helped definitely to get back to siege mindset and remember what's making siege unique to other FPS games like valorant and CS. I also just noticed these after playing a few games: - All entrances (windows, doorways, etc.) that are initially blocked off ALWAYS block outside and inside. This helps me to familiarise myself with the maps - Attacker drones always spawn near an insertion point, either an air vent or a door. Don't spend time rotating all the way through the map just because you can't find one. - As a defender, don't peek first; that's an attacker's job to go in and clear the room. My CS experience transfer over to R6S quite well - Immediately place Mute's jammers at the start of the round so attacker drones can't detect the bomb site. Imagine barricading drones instead of attackers themselves

@@lavenderlilacs This is like a month later, but map knowledge is paramount in winning ranked games. If you’re just trying to have fun, then probably not. But, knowing common rotates, soft walls, cheese spots, and general layouts in each map allows you to understand the limits, potential actions, advantages, and disadvantages afforded to both your team and the enemy’s as the game goes on. And as for learning maps; it is completely normal to have NO idea where’s what and what’s where as a beginner. But, eventually, entire maps will become embedded in your head as you play more and more. So don’t worry about not having any idea what you’re doing. I feel a huge part of Siege’s fun - or any competitive game for that matter - is learning as you go.

now do r6 siege terminologies and roles, i think it will be helpful to newcomers, also a bit of funny story when i started r6 siege, when i first started playing r6 i was confuse to where the mini map is so i navigated on settings around for few hours but wasnt able to find it so i googled it and found out that theres no mini map and you have to memorize the map in r6 and after the mini map issue i thought you can pick up the guns from your team and enemy but nope, it was some kind of "culture shock" for me on both the mini map and weapon pickup lmao, i love r6 siege!

And you can be attacking with 2-1 on the scoreboard in quick match, have your last surviving team mate kill the last surviving defender as the time runs out, get a layout telling you the round was won and then get into the tie break round. True story. Tips to get better that worked for me in another game and is improving me in this: - No matter how cheesy a kill on you felt. Never go "cheater!". Even if the play feels high chance of being a cheat. Think "what did he do? How did he do it? What did I do that could've helped him do it (like know my position or expect me)? What could have I done differently that would've make it harder and saved my life?". - Take note of how your better enemies got you. Add their ways to your play style. Though in First Assault Online, what made me jump from shitty player to average player and then from average to beating the top players of the server, including the most hackusated one: get matches against much superior enemies and focus on what they did. The thing is that the modes in FAO have nothing to do with Siege's gameplay and Siege in casual would just allow me for five encounters per match, while in FAO I could meet the enemies and get killed by them several times per macth, so the hope for a far superior enemy team that mops the floor with mine is far from being so effective to learn, as the amount of meetings with the enemy is so reduced.
