I'm trying to add a Body Preset to the Vanilla outfits but when I pull up an outfit, the outfit is grayed out and says "No image" on the entire outfit? Like let's say the "CBBE Automation - Mechanist" for example...it doesn't show vividly like in your video, instead, my outfit is grayed out with the words "No image" on it. The sliders still affect the outfit, butthe image for this one and every other outfit is grayed out completely...any idea why? 🤔 Fixed!! Edit: This is what I had to do... Open bodyslide>settings>Browse>tools>bodyslide hit select folder then saved. Then again, go right back into bodyslide>settings>browse> but this time clicked the data folder>selected folder and saved. That fixed my issue. 🙏🏽

​@@OrionDakota Okay, well I do have 2 questions. Sorry, I'm new to Modding. I understand that "Batch Builds" is used for my character AND the NPCs wearing said clothing Vanilla clothing. So, let's use the CBBE Vanilla Vault Suit for example... Is it possible to create a custom Vault suit built only for my character's presets and a different Vault suit build for the NPC's? Basically I'm wondering can you do this for all outfits for the Vanilla game, have the Vanilla outfits fit the player differently than the NPCs? I understand that there are "Standalone" mods, but I was wondering how does this work with outfits that aren't "Standalone"? 🤔 2nd question. Let's say I get a Standalone outfit, for reference Ciri from The Witcher series...okay, I built the Preset assets using the BodySlide sliders and once I hit the "Build" button, does that Ciri outfit Preset automatically get uploaded into the game or is there another step 🪜 afterwards?

@@Arnell_Mediocrity_Long I'll answer your second question first. Once you complete "build" or "Batch build" the new meshes are created. Provided they are in a folder that overwrites the existing meshes (lower in the load order) then yes, you are done and they should show up in game. Some people are missing a couple lines in their ini file and loose files don't load at all but I didn't have that issue on my desktop or laptop for whatever reason. As far as your first question. The easiest way to do this is to build one outfit only for your player. NPC's would still have the same shape with that outfit but then almost all of them would have a different shape. You can have a separate shape for your player but it requires additional modding. Primarily you would need something to change the shape of your character (a mod like "looksmenu") and you would need to check "build morphs" in bodyslide and build all the outfits in order for the game to be able to change the shape of the outfit to fit your character. I don't have much experience with this as I use the same shape for my player, and npcs (my main is a dude anyway.) I think looksmenu wants the morphs built at a zero preset but I believe if you build all the outfits at your normal "npc" preset with morphs checked you should be able to get the results you want.

@@OrionDakota honestly I was not able to even get it to load correctly from the start. I had CTD upon starting a new game after creation. This was 5+ years ago, and I just ended up never attempting it, since then. I tried using guides, I tried LOOT(which just added more issues for me to deal with). I figured I'd wait a few years and the clever people would make patches or updates, and then I'd try again. That's why I watched your bodyslide video, to see if new blood could help this old problem. I know that that description doesn't help at all in diagnosing a specific issue. I was more hoping for a new walkthrough video like you just did for CBBE. Also I did have a bunch of black or purple on my character models for pc's and npc's, when I was able to leave Vault 111.

@@stormcry8202 So it's gone through a lot of updates since then. I would give CBBE a try. If you are using Vortex or (hopefully) Mod Organizer it's pretty easy to enable and disable. I haven't heard of any crashing issues with texture/mesh mods so I think you were just terribly unlucky. The only thing I can think of is that in vanilla there is some kind of body morph mechanic when you are creating a character which may have conflicted with the body you selected in Cbbe which may not have had morphs. I would recommend installing CBBE after you leave character creation personally. As far as purple textures are concerned those are what the game fills in when the texture files are missing or unreadable. Sounds like a mod conflict not related to CBBE as the only textures contained in that mod are skin textures. Unless you are saying the players skin was purple then maybe something got messed up in the installation. I can add it to my list of videos to make but it's a pretty straightforward install. Followed this to a 'T' except for the separate mod folder and it still wont build a new outfit in game! (Launched from Vortex) You forgot to mention the 'Build" Button as well. I batched and hit build and still nothing. Great video still!

@@dandowodzenka8864 I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble. The "Build" button will build the mesh of the selected outfit. "Batch build" will build all the outfits in the groups selected INCLUDING the one selected. You don't need to click build if you already built that outfit using batch build. You would use "Build" specifically if you are modifying one outfit shape, or want to use a different preset for a specific outfit. My ability to troubleshoot with Vortex is a bit limited, it is just not as easy to use imo. Some other people had issues with their ini file not having the proper line so you can verify that and it might fix your issue. Go to your fallout4custom.ini and make sure it has the following lines: [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= Let me know if this works for you. If you don't have a fallout4custom.ini you can create one, or add these lines in the fallout4.ini. Good luck and thanks for watching!

So something no ones been able to answer for me is how do i individually edit the bodies of specific NPCs. Like if i want Cait, Currie, Piper, Maxon, Danse, and others to have specific bodies. Iv watched dozens of videos and no one explains how to individually edit those characters other than their outfits.

get their reference ID number by typing for example "help cait 4" Once you get the ref ID type slm and the number. It will put you in character creation for that NPC specifically. Edit their body and face from there as you would your own character.

@@JeffersonGutierez I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know how to do much with Vortex, never really liked using it so I uninstalled it immediately. The steps for proper install would be similar, but with a different interface. You install bodyslide and outfit studio, find a way to launch it within Vortex, then add outfit mods that add bodyslide shapes, run Bodyslide and build with your preset. I am not sure how to ensure the new files you create with Bodyslide are overwriting the other mods. I'm sure there is a way to sort load order just not sure where Bodyslide will output in Vortex. Hope any of this helps and good luck. If you can't find info on Vortex I do have a full tutorial installing and using Mod Organizer 2 if you decide to switch over. Feel free to ask any questions you might have and I'll try to help, but I don't have Vortex installed for specific stuff. Thanks for watching!

I am not familiar with Ikaros but yes, you can go either way with bodyslide. You can go big, small, or anything in between. Once you set bodyslide up you can move up and down on each slider to see what they specifically do until you find the shape you prefer (or whatever feels most immersive). Make sure to save your own preset once you have done all the hard work so you can apply it to every other outfit easily. Any more questions, feel free to ask! Thanks for watching. :) Edit: APOLOGIES. I'm still having an issue, a very specific issue, no matter what the sliders in the BodySlide and Outfits Studio never appear for me, I have CBBE, I have some BodySlider presets and a CBBE outfit mod installed, yet it won't show anything when I run it

I have a full video tutorial on how to set up MO2 because it's a little more complicated. You can find the link in the description. Yeah the Vtaw outfits are rather complicated but super detailed and designed to mix and match with each other. Sadly without modification they work best with Vtaw's own body preset so with mine there has to be some adjustments. It could be, but it also could be a few missing lines in you fallout4.ini or fallout4custom.ini. For whatever reason even with a fresh install of fo4 and mod organizer I didn't need to add the lines like they were automatically added, but several others have had to for the changes to be seen in game. I am away from my computer but off hand it was something like binvalidatearchives=1 or some such gibberish that essentially tells fallout to prioritize the loose files you have in your mod organizer folder over the original game archives. Google search "modding fallout 4 ini edits" and you should find it. If not let me know and when I get back to my computer I'll get you the exact lines. I may also have put them in a reply somewhere in this comment section or in my older bodyslide video if you don't mind searching a little. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for watching!

If you are at all familiar with Outfit Studio essentially you have to import the base body (reference) that has the physics and then copy bone weights to the outfit and save it. It's not super complicated but if you have no experience with outfit studio you might have a little trouble. none of these tutorials is a step by step tutorial. They all leave out files locations and paths and only work if you have already previously CORRECTLY installed a mod. Preachin to the choir teaches no one/

@@martinfromlosangeles The file locations are different depending on where you installed your Fallout game. I have mine removed from program files because of previous issues but yours might be under program files and in the Steam folder. Or elsewhere if you use the epic games version which I am bot familiar with. If you follow my tutorial on installing Mod Organizer 2 then you don't have to manually install or move any mod files and they are automatically placed in the proper location. If you would like assistance you are free to ask me a specific question but you are absolutely allowed to complain if you prefer. :) Note: My Mod Organizer tutorial is absolutely a step by step starting with downloading a fresh copy of Fallout 4. Were you referring to other Bodyslide tutorials? Most people assume if you are installing bodyslide you have already installed mods as without a clothing mod bodyslide will be empty. Technically my first bodyslide tutorial was part 3 of a modding series but I made this newer one as a standalone. Go see my previous tutorial if you need it, I believe it is linked in the description.
