Let me know if you want a guide on Outfit Studio. I have used it a decent amount for Skyrim but have not had the need in FO4. This is possibly due to the Bodyslide for FO4 being a bit more modest than the amount of sliders available in Skyrim and thus having no big issues with outfits that require it. I have had to convert a Skyrim outfit for use in FO4 however. Please comment below or reply to this post. Thanks again for watching!

Best bodyslide guide on youtube. Thank you. I even learned some things on MO2 that are quite important. I use vortex, and I have been told a few times to switch to MO2. Starting to learn why.
@OrionDakota5 ай бұрын
I am making a video comparing them, but am already getting annoyed with Vortex. :P Though in all honesty Vortex seems a bit more aimed for modding multiple games and being a sort of unified game launcher, where MO2 seems to be really good at managing mods for one game at a time. This is just based on my observations of the interfaces. I do think MO2 has better features with the only seemingly missing feature as setting plug-in load order rules. That being said, it can be a bit harder to initially setup and specifically setting up bodyslide to work right can sometimes be a pain. Thanks for watching! :)
@phatlokki5 ай бұрын
@OrionDakota oh mo2 doesnt have a rule feature? Thats quite useful i have to say for vortex. Manually organizing load orders is just bad. It just puts everything in default for the most part and uses loot. I pretty much just use rules, some built in groups and follow suggestions currently. Im at 140 mods and it seems ok. F04 edit didnt find anything major. I found a pretty good organization page and i was thinking of just making groups after default in that order. It will move things unless loot has a built in rule for it, which then it will have no effect. So its good and bad. Vortex also has pretty good structure and warnings. Though i did delete a collection one time thinking it would just delete it off nexus and it deleted all my mods. One drive all over again lol. Biggest reason i wanted mo2 was the overwrite feature and being able to freely drag and drop my plugins. Does mo2 protect u like vortex and just wont move things if it doesnt work? Like vortex? Im worried with vortex if i try a different profile on the same game like fallout with some major different balancing that i might get some conflicting with files and writes it missed on mod disable. I havent tested this. Just a fear lol.
@OrionDakota5 ай бұрын
@@phatlokki Yeah you can't move certain plug-ins above or below others. I do get that setting rules is a pretty nice feature missing but I can count on one hand the times I've had to manually arrange plug-ins in MO2. I have 270 mods I think and 240ish plug-ins. It seems to also sort certain plug-ins based on where in the load order the loose files are as well. I dragged one mod to the bottom on loose files and when I ran loot it moved the plug-in to the bottom as well. I was working on a video comparing Vortex and MO2 but the Vortex interface kind of annoys me. Seems better aligned for managing multiple games where MO2 really shines managing a single game. I also use the portable instance because I like it only having one game in each program folder. Neater that way imo.

@OrionDakota Well just now, another annoying feature on vortex. I recently read midnight rides guide, but im still using next gen for now cause basically ive gone to far and im mid playthrough. I might turn back next. Anyways. I have been informed and also read its a good idea to have fallout 4 out of program files and free from one drive. I accomplished this and also installed alot of bug fixes. When i went to launch i had problems with my boardless fullscreen magnifying the top left corner, instead of a centered stretch. So naturally i thought, one of the big fixes i installed had a sneaky setting that bugged my screen. I disabled all of them one by one, no fix. Disabled all mods, no fix. So then i thought since i moved fallout 4 [through steam] that vortex some how made ini files somewhere. (Before all this i backed up my ini and copy pasted after). In the end it was just something stupid. I had to change to full screen, launch. Then change to borderless windowed. Fixed. So now all my mods are disabled and i figured id just use my profile to enable all of them saved to the profile. I clicked the warning and it said mod needs dependies. Cool i clicked enabled, install. Said it couldnt find the files with like 160 notifications. Wtf. I looked online all over and no info on how to enable the profile mods. Later i scrolled through the mods and seen my fallout in there. I enabled it and then it deployed all the mods. Fixed. Why is this so hidden? Lol. 2 hours of fixing my screen and it was just fallout being dumb Ive had so many nightmares with this game hahaha. Mod life.
@OrionDakota5 ай бұрын
@@phatlokki Lol yep, mod life for sure! Try out MO2, I think you will really like it once you get used to it. Start modding New Vegas or something with it and once you get the hang of it, it wont be so hard switching over your FO4 if you decide to later on. I actually switched from Nexus Mod Manager on my Skyrim and once I got the hang of it I ended up removing NMM entirely and replacing it with MO2 for my Fallout as well. Also with MO2 you really dont have to disable the mods. Just launch FO4 without MO2 and the game is vanilla. It doesnt actually copy anything to the game folder.

Silly question, but what's the difference between CBBE and CBBE outfit?
@OrionDakota3 ай бұрын
I'm not sure in what context you are referring, but CBBE is a female body mod. It replaces the mesh and textures for the body. The CBBE outfits are outfits that were modified to fit the CBBE body shape (to perfectly fit over top of the body). If you are installing CBBE without outfits the only point you would see the difference is with no outfit on at all. In order to see the changes with all the outfits, you have to replace them as well in one way or another, either with the pre-made meshes (slim or curvy) or by building the body and outfit shape manually with bodyslide. I hope this answers your question. Thank you for watching! :)

Can we use your guides for the Next Gen updated version of FO4? Trying to find a good, up to date tutorial for installing the most-used, basic, quality-of-life type mods, like Unofficial F4 Patch (if still needed), F4SE, CBBE, etc. I realize it may be too early for a video tutorial like this, but thought I'd ask, anyway. Thanks for your help!
@OrionDakota6 ай бұрын
Yes you can still use my guides to mod with the latest update. I did a little research for you and it appears while they are getting close to getting F4SE updated they also are having a number of stability issues relating to the next gen update. Supposedly Bethesda will be releasing a hot fix for some of the many things they broke on the 13th. That being said the next gen patch really only broke scripted mods so any texture or mesh mods like Cbbe or bodyslide should still work fine for you. The nice thing about Mod Organizer is that disabling mods is as easy as unchecking the box. Feel free to follow my guides and try the mods for yourself if you have the update. You will need to skip the part about F4SE until the new version is released and any mods requiring it will not currently work. The only harm is if you save over your existing game so make sure you back up your save files or create a fresh character for testing. Any more questions, feel free to ask! You can keep up to date with F4SE development or get more information at the nexus page here :www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42147?tab=posts

@@OrionDakota Thanks so much for your reply and for taking the time to check on this for me! I have been trying to keep up with the F4SE "Posts" page, but a lot of it is over my head. I do have one more question. If I use MO2 for FO4 and have it set so that the Mod Manager download links are handled by MO2, will this conflict with the fact that I use Vortex for modding other games like Cyberpunk and Witcher 3? Like, if I decide to download a new mod for Cyberpunk, is the link now going to use MO2 rather than Vortex, to download that mod? If so, is there a way to fix this?
@OrionDakota6 ай бұрын
So there can only be a link to one program from Nexus at a time. I have MO2 for Skyrim SE, FO4, and FO76 and NMM for Skyrim LE. If I open NMM and restore the url association it removes it for MO2 and vice versa. In the case with MO2 and NMM it pops up a dialogue telling you the association has been removed and prompts you to restore it when you open the program. I can't attest to Vortex but I'm sure it does the same thing. Hope this clarifies that for you.

Sorry for the additional reply but I noticed on Nexus there is now a FO4 Downgrader mod available, should you feel the need to downgrade to the last version in order to use F4SE and the corresponding mods. Link here if you want to check it out. www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81630 If not present in the mod I would imagine all you do is remove the mod and run game verification in Steam to get back to the new version.

@@krizzy090 You might try this mod: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/79560 Vtaw has a weird format for how the pieces of the outfits go on. This mod tries to conform it to the standard format so it's easier to combine with other pieces from different mods. I guess by default the shoes change the base body shape so without the shoes from Vtaw the body might not fit the other pieces of the outfit. I have not tried Vtaw on my game yet but don't need much convincing to download it if you wanted some help troubleshooting. I was just reading the posts and seeing what other people said about it. Seems Vtaw with bodyslide is one of the most likely to need to be tweaked with Outfit Studio. Perhaps that's what I'll base my Outfit Studio video on later.

@OrionDakota6 ай бұрын
I am not sure what you mean about downgrading but CBBE and Bodyslide are only for textures and meshes so F4SE is not required. The script extender is to unlock additional functionality in scripted mods. However, the upside is that using the F4SE launcher means you can bypass steam updates so it might be worth installing even if you don't currently plan on using mods that require it. :)
