Very nice and informative video. Just got mines today and unlike the US in Germany they’re not expensive. I paid 5 bucks. I prefer younger, smaller plants do to the fact that They seem to endure Stress much easier as Older 1. Plus I believe I can TRAIN the plant to live under My conditions with Patience introducing Them to the New Environment slowly reduces the Stress. And if They go to the Light, I haven’t spent too much to LEARN what Not to do next time. I haven’t seen a video about the Network plant but You spoke on some issues that I was concerned about. I have been bitten by the Plant/ Father Nature bug since the 80‘s so therefore being Old School some things haven’t changed. I don’t have a Humidifier for My Alocasia‘s, Calatheas, or Philodendrons because I do enjoy Misting. I see it as Quiet Time with My Babies. Like getting a shower I spray My Babies in the morning thoroughly and it seems to work. I also have water holders hanging from My radiators to add Moisture or just leaving a tray with water will also put moisture back into the room. I don’t have any Pests I believe do to the mixture in My Misting bottle. A little dishwashing liquid, a dab of Mayo, a shot of Neem oil, and filtered water. Also because of the Mayo/Neem Oil the leaves get a shiny appearance. I do also alternate between just filtered water or the Mixture every 2-3 days. I had concerns about the Mixture clogging the Pores of the leaves but I haven’t seen any Negative effects. The lighting comes by way of a Normal LED bulb used to lighten My Livingroom. It has 3000Kelvin which is the same as most Grow lights for foliage. I believe that as long as the BASICS are met, light, Food, humidity, Water and Music, mines Love Jazz, and RNB ALL will go fine. Although I haven’t watered JA‘NET yet I water all My plants THOUGHLY every 2-3 weeks and in winter it seems to work also with the use of a Moisture Meter. In summer more often. And fertilizers comes by way of Worm Poop mixed in the soil. I do support it with a Shot of strongly DILUTED liquid fertilizer for that additional BUZZ. I like the way Yours Expresses Herself with Confidence. I’m a bit curious about seeing the leaves hang because I have never seen them stiff? As for Her talking to You, I believe that’s true with ALL Our Children, but the Calatheas and Alocasia‘s have no Problem speaking Their minds. Our Problem is understanding what They’re saying. But most times it’s either water, humidity, or food so through the Process of Limitation We can find out the answers. Thanks for the info. I’m looking foreword to the Journey. I also heard They’re not AS difficult as other Calatheas but each 1 is an Individual. Take care and stay Positive. ✌🏿

Hello Brian, I really enjoyed reading your comment. Thanks for sharing your experience and perspective. I love that you name your plants and am sure that Janet is happy in your care. I think I may start wiping my leaves down with a neem solution to help with pests. Thanks for the idea. Stay well and enjoy your plants. PS, our plants have the same taste in music. 😊🙌🌿💚

I live in 10b. Do you approve of planting pothos outdoors? They are said to be invasive. BTW......calathea have a good reputation. I want to find perennial replacements to the pothos. Have you tried planting caladium or coleus outdoors. Do they latter have a dormant period in your zone/. Thanks, BEBE
@PeggysPlants4 жыл бұрын
Hello! I tried outdoor caladium once and they didn't do well for me. I think it was too hot. I think it's fine to grow pothos outdoors in a controlled setting. I have some outdoors in a pot and it grows twice as fast as my indoor pothos. I don't bring it in for winter. My house in Central Florida has pothos growing in a tree and it has big beautiful leaves. I will leave it there as long as it does not begin to spread. It has some runners growing on the ground and I pulled those up. Thanks for watching!
@bebekanter66404 жыл бұрын
@@PeggysPlants What zone are you in? Caladiums need shade. Don't give up. Caladiums are usually OK in FL. They come in an number of colors and with two types of leaves.The ones I have here were tranferred from my 5b garden up North. Perhaps I'm being a snob. It's true that pothos are indestructible, but caladium are more "sophisticated". According the Florida publications, trees are strangled by pothos. That's what is invasive about them. Check it out yourself and LMK what your opinion is.
