My thought was “it’s just a big wak with legs” and the old saying, when the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. But you actually made that work. The Skottle actually is pretty versatile.

Thanks! I thought the same way as well but then realized how much steam can be made when you have the griddle that can suspend pots/pans over the water as it boils - I warm up dip this way too (keep it in those tin trays for minimal clean up) and you can also make popcorn with the lid!

Yes! Started doing this recently and its amazing at camp! I'm thinking of trying to make biscuits with this method for some breakfast sandwiches or biscuits and gravy!

It turns out moist. Best option is to add aluminum foil to the top

No Doubt man, TBH I got the skottle as a gift. I've seen people DIY it though which is probably what I would have done if I didnt get this as a gift. I'm going to be doing a 6 month review on it here soon but honestly I only use it for sauce based dishes (Pasta, Fajitas, etc) I've tried making Philly Cheese steaks or tacos on it and it always ends up burning the meat or bread (or things dont get heated evenly) bec the heat is concentrated in the middle of the wok (its really just a portable/packable wok) lol which is why sauce based dishes work the best bec those don't burn so quick. I still keep my 2 burner coleman stove around :)
