This is one of the best DIY videos on youtube!! Thanks so much for the tip. I was pumping and bleeding for so long that I built up a pretty good blister. After finding your video, I grabbed a $1 squirter bottle (like those you find for ketchup at a dinner) and rigged everything together. I had a wild amount of bubbles come out so I decided to take a bit from the master (it was clean and new) and do it one more time. She seems to be solid and ready to go. I owe you a beer!

Man you saved my ass today. Finished changing the clutch on a Renault Kangoo 2 and lost almost 2 hours trying to bleed it the normal way with no success. Tried this and it worked!! Thanks a bunch. Cheers from Portugal.

I bought a cheap 350ml syringe and clear pipe from Amazon to do this. Worked perfectly. Another tip is that if it’s a completely new master cylinder, half fill it with fluid and give it a few pumps by hand before fitting. There’s always a few bubbles there

Hey mate! I had air in system in my Civic gen 8. All the 'normal' methods failed, i wasted whole day yesterday on in, and the only outcome was that I put even more air into system by doing it 'normally'. Today i tried your method, but i used a big syringe to push fluid back through bleeder and it worked like magic! Took like 3 minutes, I did it twice to be sure. Thank you very very much!!

Very grateful to you sir, My Saab viggen had is also a pain to work on sometimes. Ok, I lied, It is always a pain in the rear to work on. On the bleeding. Wow yeah, I was just telling my neighbors...... why would anybody in there right mind try to get air bubbles to go down and out the Nipple. Air rises,, ✅RIGHT ✅!!! I TOO DID IT THE STUPID WAY EVERYONE ELES HAS TOLD ME TO DO IT. YOU SIR ARE A THINKER. earlier today all I could think of is ??? Why don't I push the air up and out of the master. I wonder if that would finally get my clutch to work again. Well, well we'll. 5 mins later, I have the best clutch I have ever had folks. Thank you brotha for giving me the confidence to go for it. Note I pumped 3/4 or less out of the master just in case before I started. Just FYI on that last part. No mess. No mess at all. And super dupper easy man. Thank so much bro

Thanks for the video. I've been trying to bleed the clutch on my MK8 civic for about a week now through different methods (Gunsons kit, vacuum bleeder, up/down pedal routine) and the most ive got is a little bit of pressure on the pedal... Pedal still goes to the floor though :( Will definitely give this a try!

@@gooapple9 hi Rob. I purchased a 500ml oil suction syringe from Amazon. Do a search for "EMOTO 500ml Oil Suction Syringe". It costs about £15 although you could probably purchase a 250ml one for cheaper. Fill the syringe with brake fluid. Connect it to the nipple of the clutch slave cylinder and then open the nipple. Then force the brake fluid in through the nipple, slowly but firmly. Usually best done from below the car as well rather than above it. Close the nipple after and try the clutch.

It might help in the short term, but you should look into what's causing the free play. If it's leaking fluid you need to find out where.
@ash7990
@ash7990 3 жыл бұрын
When you talk about the reservoir over flowing your pointing at the brake master cylinder. The clutch master cylinder and reservoir is inside the car, which is probably why bleeding it the normal way wasn’t working as it probably ran out of fluid
@51North

No it's a shared reservoir

@@51North has it been modified then? The clutch hydraulics is a separate system to the brakes and has its own reservoir inside the car up by the pedal.

Today I found out my brake fluid is leaking (from MAX to MIN in 4 days) and I can see brake fluid running out of slave clutch cylinder.. SO basically I just replace slave clutch cylinder, connect this diy bottle to it and squeeze it in and that way you fill your whole cars braking fluid right? and when it reaches the MAX on reservoir then you stop and tighten the plug and voila...
@51North
@51North 3 жыл бұрын
Some cars have separate reservoirs for clutch and brakes some don't. Fill the reservoir, then use this bleeding method until the you have good pedal feel. You might have fluid spill over the max, in which case clean up the spilled fluid.
