Making this for mother's day. My mom loves the environment(aka hates one use plastic bags which rip easy) and gardening and I knew she'd enjoy this adorable bag. Useful for carrying freshly picked veggies or just everyday items. Super easy and quick to make. 10/10 recommend. Wish me luck that she loves it!!

I just made this bag within three days and it turned out great! Super cute and easy to make. Only problem is that the bag doesn’t hold that much weight, and I’m afraid it will stretch out if I use it too regularly with too much weight.

I used cotton, stretched out a ton when I put books in it. Surely if I add veggies or anything with weight, it will stretch. Not sure how to use it now.

This is a great tutorial! I made mine a littleeee smaller (ended up only needing 50 chains for the handles) and it took ~10 hours! This is my first bigger project besides some little shirts and coasters. So happy with it!!

I JUST FINISHED AND IT LOOKS SO GOOD! VERY EASY!! THE ONLY EXPERIENCE I HAVE IS BASIC KNITTING (like a square) AND CROCHET A CIRCLE BEFORE AS PRACTICE!! I did make some mistakes but don't worry the imperfection makes the bag even more special :)

Probably made a mistake in row 7 when you begin to go all the way around. Watch her video again. Pay attention to the turns. She skips the first row at each corner. Good luck!

Hi. @@libbyb4067 No i didn’t unravel the yarn. I use “magic loop” to connect the yarns. This can be done when you’ve almost finish the first ball of yarn.

@@HiJuliaSpeaking It is I "heart" Yarn 8/4 cotton from Hobbii. She is using at least 2 skeins since it is doubled. She does not say how she used because you can make it the size you want. Never having used this Yarn from Hobbii I can not say for sure but 4 to 6 skeins, only because it us doubled.

I think you must’ve accidentally added a stitch each time you went around. It’s a really easy mistake to make!

I used a flimsier yarn so it can hold a few light things, but I’d be nervous carrying much weight. If you use a sturdier yarn it should be plenty good to hold two books!!

So I just made this bag (we’ll attempt to make lol) and instead of being a perfect square, my bad gets smaller and smaller towards the top and almost closing in at the very top where the straps go (almost like a real purse). I am not sure where I went wrong and I think it’s hideous lmaooo but it was only my second project so I guess I wont be that hard on myself. Any reason as to why the shape didn’t stay square? (It’s shaped very similar to almost a triangle now. Thank you!

i have this same issue & i saw another comment saying hers gets wider at the top, and someone said she was probably adding a new stitch. since ours is getting smaller at the top, i’m assuming somewhere we both dropped/ignored a stitch?? but i’m not sure how to fix that lol. it’s my first ever crochet project, learning as i go!!

I’d just start a chain and make it a 3-4 inches shorter than you want the bag to end up! That’s what I did anyway
