I think they are much better with membrane removed. Easy to do by grabbing end with paper towel.

In the center, put in a bunch of small potatoes or large Idaho potatoes cut in half, and when you take the ribs out, take the potatoes out and make mashed potatoes out of them with a little butter and sour cream, and they are out of this world.

I always coat my ribs with a thin layer of yellow mustard before I put on my dry rub. Helps the dry rub to stick real good, helps break down the tissue and adds great flavor.

Even some competition rib restaurants won't remove the membrane. They score and it when you cook ribs the correct way, they dissappear

Almost any meat will get tender in a crock pot. I would look up a recipe for beef ribs however. Seasonings and times are probably different.

Why didnt you just pick them up and place in crockpot while you had the gloves on, would have been easier then with tongs. Iv made ribs like this and they really are so good. Also if you lay them in the pot they will cook in the bbq sauce

To be fair its not hard to make it fall off bone. You could overcook it and it can still fall off, lol. I know that's not the case, just saying.

Those are not "falling" off the bone. Yes some bones fell out, but that meat still looked tough. Next time try removong the silver skin and skip the crock pot.
