Listen to the song, "La Carcacha" by Selena y los Dinos. The rythim: cha ka cha, cha ka cha, cha ka cha. 1 & 3 on the down beats. The "guiro" will cover on the rhythm fills. For a sharper, crisper, tone have a maracas player also perform the "cha ka cha" with the maracas. Timbaleros will fill all 3 strikes on cascara, with a cowbell strike on the 1, and a drum beat strike on 3. A drum fill after every 4 bars. ok? And a one, two, three...

What I do to learn congas. I put the video in a very slow motion on KZbin so I can follow the hands? Once I catch it I go to the normal speed to practice and practice…..

Exactly what part of “easy Cumbia songs” did you not understand? If an expert like you wants a better fill I’m sure there’s other ways but in Cumbias it’s usually the same rhythm in a fast tempo
