Great work! I am in the process of building a king size bed myself and am going to "borrow" some of your ideas.

Very well done. I'm doing a similar queen bed frame and adding more metal slats to support the center of the box spring foundation as the mattress manufacturer requests. You've already done that.

You can find these at home depot, Lowe's or even a local lumber store might have them or be able to get. Make sure to get the untreated. Thanks!

Great video. Followed your plans and noticed one issue. In the video you state 2" wood screws and in the tutorial it says 2 1/2". It should be the 2". I'm glad I checked prior to screwing or I would have blown through the plywood face

The 4 x 8 plywood came pre sanded but we sanded the other boards that would show except for the trim.

If you were to stain this instead, do you recommend a certain type of wood? Starting to research making a bed of my own and love your design!

No you can use any type of wood! I just used common wood/pine

ANGELA WHERE CAN I FIND THE PAINT PLEASE. THANS.
@AngelaMarieMade2 жыл бұрын
The paint is Ivory White by Benjamin Moore in eggshell. If you don't have a Benjamin Moore store near you, Home Depot or Lowe's will both be able to match the colors in there lines of paint.

How can I make that to a Queen size frame?
@AngelaMarieMade3 жыл бұрын
You would need to shorten the width and depth cuts to fit the dimensions of a queen. The height of the headboard and legs would stay the same.

Why not use a 2x4 for the bottom side support? Seems like an easier and more stable approach than gluing together 2 2x2s.
@AngelaMarieMade3 жыл бұрын
You could use 2x4's but we chose 2x2's because of the size, weight and look of them, plus they are about 1/2 the cost. Most of the bed's support is distributed across the slats.
@Caillou20234 жыл бұрын
How much for this project?
@AngelaMarieMade4 жыл бұрын
total cost with materials and paint/primer was $175

that would really depend on wood costs - it tends to shift.

@@AngelaMarieMade prices have gone up so much, I just tried to prices this out. It's from online so prices may vary but it came out about 250$- 290$
@juditzubor23022 жыл бұрын
I like this but the Roomba would get stuck underneath because of all those bunch of support pieces. Otherwise i would totally build this bed.
@joabt50713 жыл бұрын
I'm currently making this bed frame and I think I spotted a mistake. The 1x4 that goes on top of the headboard should be 82in, not 81in. (the math behind it: 4in post + 74in plywood + 4in post = 82in).
@AngelaMarieMade3 жыл бұрын
The 4" posts are actually only 3.5" wide, it's an industry standard for a lot of wood and I'm not sure why.
@joabt50713 жыл бұрын
@@AngelaMarieMade ah that makes sense. I made a model of this bed in Sketch up but totally forgot about the real life dimensions after they clean up the boards. We even bought a new 1x4 thinking we had cut the 1st one it too short 😆 We still need to sand and do the pocket holes because we don’t have a workshop so we work outside and it’s been raining. I’m looking forward to the sun, warm weather and finishing this. ☺️

I feel like you're struggling hardcore drilling those pocket holes....maybe check your drill to make sure it's on the most powerful setting....or go buy a Milwaukee drill Lol
