Want glowing skin? Try this floral toner that infuses rose petals and chamomile flowers in apple cider vinegar! Rose and chamomile are anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and packed with anti-oxidants that help protect skin from environmental stress and free radical damage. Both are also hypoallergenic, natural astringents and lend a sweet floral aroma to your toner. It does not need to be refrigerated if you use dry herbs and the ACV alone. This toner works for all skin types but since ACV is very acidic (pH 3.1 - 4 once infused, 2.9 - 3.1 before infusion). Dilute in small batches with purified water, herbal teas or aloe vera juice/gel in order to match skin's pH, which is about 5.5. I use it neat (without dilution) because my skin has grown accustomed to the acidity. Results? Hello smooth, soft glowing skin. PS: Products account for 20% of your skin condition. Genetics, diet, environmental exposure, hormones, medications etc will have an impact. Also, other products you use on your skin matter a lot. PS2: After toning I use a water-based serum, moisturizer, and a high-concentrated essential oil, oil-based serum…all DIY Occasionally I will retinol (store-bought). I’ll post videos of the other DIY products I use so hit subscribe and click the notification bell so you’ll know when those videos go up.

@Allimarie Wallace...Yes, twice a day, in the morning and evening. In the morning I rinse my face with water and tone. In the evening it's more of a deep cleanse. Occasionally I will substitute this toner for an anti-aging one that I also DIY with glycol acid but for the most part ACV-infused (I change the herbs frequently) is my go to. Hope that helps

@1988lostgirl.... Absolutely! You could even change tea each time you dilute it. The options are endless. Dilute in small batches and in a separate container so there's no cross contamination of the bigger batch. Hope that helps :-)

I've been using my own DIY ACV toner for several months now (unfiltered ACV, distilled water & essential oils of tea tree & lemongrass) and my skin has never looked better! It's the best toner out there for my skin! This infusion with rose petals and chamomile sounds like a great idea I might try in the future.

Yes! ACV is just it! Tea tree and lemongrass sound delightfully uplifting. I'll try essential oils in a different batch and see how I like it. Thank you for the idea

I'm so glad you made this video. I've thought about doing this, except infusing the acv with ayurvedic herbs to use as a final hair rinse. Maybe now I can stop procrastinating and do it lol.

Hi. Just found this video today. I love the idea of this toner. I have 2 questions 1. What other herbs would you recommend to infuse the acv with, especially for oily acne prone skin 2. Can I use rose water with acv and infuse the chamomile in that mix of fluids?? Hope you answer Tia

Thank you Tracy. Day made! I buy my herbs from several places usually for quality control Right off the top of my head... mountainroseherbs, herbco, bulkherbstore, amazon, starkest-botanicals. Add dot com at the end of each one. Hopefully that gives you a great start but if you have a specific herb in mind, let me know and I'll tell you exactly where that one came from.

That's exactly the idea! Make everything multi-use. I can use it for hair, face and body. I have even used it as a deodorant in the summer and it works. Heck, I could even drink or use as salad dressing it if I wanted to because it's all organic, raw and natural. There are literally endless options with infused vinegar. Endless, I tell you :-)

Hey Gabrielle! How long does the toner last for and does it need to be refrigerated?
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 7 жыл бұрын
How long it lasts depends on how often you use it. This container will last me about a month and a half mostly because I use it for other things like night deodorant and sometimes as a mouth rinse (in separate containers) on top of using it as a toner. If you use dried or dehydrated herbs, you do not need to refrigerate it. I put it in the fridge for the summer months just for the cooling effect of a cold liquid. Vinegar is pretty potent which makes it inhabitable for microbes. Hope that helps.

Fermented rice water and ACV? Wouldn't that shorten its shelf-life since it's different bacteria?
@annvogelpohl3502

No, I would use the fermented rice water or aloe vera juice instead of the ACV. My hair and skin tends to like those two liquids over ACV.

Thank you for this. I tried a ACV toner and I dont think I diluted it enough because there were times when my skin would sting or burn a little. I want to make this toner and dilute it with Aloe Vera Gel. I have a couple of quesrions though. 1. When you infused herbs in ACV does that shorten the life span on the product? I asked because ACV usually have a longer life span and since I can see myself making at least a 8oz infusion of this. I'm hoping I don't have to use it up in weeks. 2. Will I be able to use this for hair as well? Like a ACV rinse for my hair and scalp. I found that using a mix of 1 ounce of ACV to 16 oz of water allows me to use ACV more often. Like once a week. I'm hopinf that that's diluted enough to not start causing any kind of damage. Or do Rose Petals not have any real kind of benefits for hair only skin?
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 7 жыл бұрын
Hey Kenisha White! No, the infusion does not interfere with the life span of the product as long as you use completely dry herbs and glass storage. And yes! this is completely multipurpose. I have used for hair and as a deodorant in the summer. In fact I could even drink it or use it for salad dressing if I wanted to because everything is organic and natural. Rose petals are great for hair too and one of the most gentle herbs out there no matter skin/hair condition. I make many variations of infused ACV and this is my favorite hands down. A little sting is okay as long as it is not uncomfortable. It indicates the ACV is not too diluted and remember it is an alpha-hydroxy acid so the skin will react to it. You don't want to over dilute either. Get the pH strips from amazon then gradually dilute till pH is 5 or 5.5. That might require using a combination of water (pH 7) and love era juice (pH 4). Aloe is still acidic so it may not be enough to raise the pH of ACV. Hope that makes sense but if not, please ask away :-)

Hi Gabrielle, I luv this recipe and can'take wait to try it! Do you buy pre-dried rose & chamomile flowers or the whole flowers then allow them to dry over time?
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 7 жыл бұрын
I buy organic dried herbs in bulk. They have to be dried under the right temperature because if the temp is off they won't completely dehydrate. Safer bet to buy them from a company that specializes in drying herbs

Hey Nekayba! It doesn't need to be refrigerated when you use dry herbs like this. It will last just as normal un-infused ACV will last. I put it in the fridge for the summer months just for the cooling effect of a cold liquid. Vinegar is pretty potent which makes it inhabitable for microbes. Hope that helps.

Can you make conditioner using pre-made conditioner base ? I've been wanting to make an Ayurvedic conditioner with conditioner base but idk how to add the ingredients in it without losing the consistency of the conditioner base. I've seen a lot of Ayurvedic conditioners on etsy but they're too expensive.

Absolutely! Buy organic flowers though. The ones in the grocery/flower stores are pumped full of chemicals during growth and after harvesting so they stay fresh longer. I have no idea where you can buy fresh organic flowers. Organic ones are dried as soon as they are harvested because they naturally wither away faster
