Easy ‘fake’ rib (without ribber) | Knitting machine tutorial

How to knit a folded ‘fake’ rib (mock rib) on a flatbed knitting machine. Step-by-step tutorial for beginners.
I’m knitting on a Brother KH-260 (chunky/bulky) in this video. This technique will work on any single bed knitting machine without a ribber.
Tools & material:
Cast-on comb and weights. Single prong transfer tool. Scissors.
Main yarn: I'm using Järbo Alpe, 100% wool, worsted / aran (50 grams = 100 meters).
Waste yarn: Any yarn in a contrasting colour. I'm using an old acrylic/wool mix. You can unravel and reuse it again and again...

I was looking into KH260. I love my LK140, but wanted to explore the punchcards. I mostly use, fingering, DK and worsted weight. I bought LK100 just to test the gauge before investing into brother. But I couldn’t produce nice fabric. It needed chunkier yarn. Would it be possible to share different yarn weights on your machine and what fabric it produces? I know people love bulky machines for the needle size and easier on hands and eyes to manipulate stitches. Thank you. Love your videos.

Hello! Yes, I'm planning to do a video trying different yarn weights on the chunky machine and the standard gauge machine and showing the fabric they produce. I think one of the great things about bulky machines is that you can combine 2 (or more) strands of thinner yarns to create a unique fabric... you could try a strand of worsted weight with a strand of fingering weight yarn, or 2 strands of fingering. Experiment and see if you can find something that you like. Also, keep in mind that the distance between the needles on a bulky machine really stretches the knitting out, so blocking can make a huge difference to the look and feel of a fabric.
