Easy, Fast Journal Using a Vintage Book Signature

Dearest of KZbin Friends,
Since you're watching this video, I know you, like me, have a pile of old book signatures piled up high in various corners of your house with no use in sight. Did you know you can make a quick and easy journal using them? Perfect as neutral signatures or as collage journals (the book page is the chef's kiss for a background!), this type of journal is my new favorite go-to and will serve as my new midsummer journal! They are so easy to put together, I made five in one hour.

What a great idea. Love this on using existing book signatures! I have a wonderful tip to share to make covers more sturdy. I recently applied matte Mod Podge and also Tim Holtz Collage medium (I tried both products separately) to my cover papers (both sides). The results are nothing short of fantastic! They feel like wallpaper or fabric and I just love how much sturdier they are. The medium is super easy to apply with a brush, and dries super quick. I also sewed on my covers and applied the product afterwards and it didn’t affect the sewing. I am using this on any journal cover where I print it as a digital. I used to laminate my covers which also makes them a lot sturdier but applying the medium gives them more of an organic natural feel which I just love. ❤️ P.S. I edited this comment to add that the Tim Holtz Collage Medium is my preference as it applies like butter and produces a lovely streak free wallpaper effect.

Wonderful idea, I've done a variation of this concept so that I don't wind up with a lot of book pages but mixed in some other book pages along with scrapbook paper to coordinate with cover. Definitely making one like this.
