*These are easy to use and highly visible **enjoyable.fishing** recommend they are extremely valuable for going from a dead drift set up to a float setup. They save time and you don't have to re-tie everything to add a float to your presentation.*

These videos are very useful and they also prove that the float manufacturers shotting advice on the side of the float is usually inaccurate! I don't even bother looking at it anymore.

@@markrayton6385 Yes he was a decent feller I would think, and he always tried to do his best by everyone, he ran a competition not long before he died to give some youngster the chance to win a whip and other gear to set them on the angling path!👍 Personally I admired the man, may he rest in peace!

Would it not be better to use stotz instead of gripper stops around the float, and a couple of droppers,, seems to be alot going on around the float?

Bill. Not being a good float angler myself. I asked a friend how h e set up. He said, just use a loaded waggler and one ssg shot, thats how he does it, with the ssg down by the hooklink, he catches loads. Does this seem a good option ? Would appreciate an answer mate. Thanks

Paul Mennell Hi well that is a very crude set up and I would only use that kind of shotting pattern if I wanted to anchor a bait firmly to the bottom
@ORIGINOLINDIVIDUAL6 жыл бұрын
if margin fishing or fishing very close in, would it be possible to use no shot at all, except for near the hooklink to sink it ? thanks
@easyfishing19366 жыл бұрын
ORIGINALINDIVIDUAL Hi yes it is especially in a wind as you sometimes need to slow or stop the bait being dragged. It is always worthwhile to experiment with shotting patterns on the day to see what works best. If you put all the shot down it will be like fishing the lift method. No shotting pattern is set in stone but the way I demonstrated gives great flexibility as you can have very few shot down for a slow sink to a single or double bulk or even all bulked down. Suck it and see what works to give the best presentation and therefore most fish on the day. Tight Lines

Easy Fishing thanks for reply, as a rule of thumb tho, am i right in thinking the more shallow and close in you are fishing, the less shot on the line ? im going fishing next week for the first time in years and im useing a loaded waggler set up with rubber stops, only fishing a few foot deep and a few foot out in the margins, any tips for me ? thanks

ORIGINALINDIVIDUAL Hi well yes and no! If you are fishing very close in and in shallow water at close range I would be using a small Drennan Inline Crystal dibber float. Don’t worry about the float it is made for big fish in shallow water is very strong tangle free and is much less likely to spook the fish. It only works if you are fishing close in with a rod and reel but is a method I use a lot. Have a look at my video on pole floats for commercial fisheries. Will Raison has just put out a video on this method using a float rod with a pole float and if it works for a world champion I’m sure it will work for you! To many people think you can only use pole floats on the pole and wagglers on running line but this is wrong. You can buy wagglers for on the whip and I will, when I get the chance be doing a video on that as well. Tips? Well don’t feed to much bait and try and avoid spooking the fish because you can be very close to them. Don’t be frightened to use big baits I often use whole lobworms, double sweet corn and big paste baits very successfully on big strong hooks and line. Definately have the clutch set light as they can tear of at high speed when you hook them. I hope this helps. Tight Lines

I was thinking the same, I'm going to try shops like home barging, b&m or Wilkos for a vase :D
@YouGruff3 жыл бұрын
You could just cut the top section off a tall enough plastic milk carton or squash / fizzy pop bottle if you don't have a vase at hand
