You've now got me going back to basics. £6 whip controverted to a stonflo adapter. 3lb line, looking to catch anything that comes near. Keep up the good work pal.

Brilliant. I think there’s so many videos showing carpers with 3 rod set ups and match anglers with huge poles and set ups that it makes, what is essentially a very simple past time look difficult. I take my 11 year old fishing with a whip just like you showed. I think teaching anyone water craft and respecting wildlife is the most important aspect. The rest will follow. Getting kids into fishing is the future and your video is great for showing how easy and uncomplicated it really is. Well done mate👍
@easyfishing19365 жыл бұрын
Richard Ferrier Hi thank you I think people get fooled into thinking you must have ‘all the gear’ but that is so untrue. You need gear to do the job but you don’t need to spend a fortune, and as you point out watercraft is essential. Bill

I've recently just got back into it after a mate of mine gave me his kit that he wasn't using.i used the 4m whip on my local canal (Leicester) and had a brill day using bread punch. Keep the vids coming there great.

Louis Fishing Trips Hi glad you enjoyed it. If you ever watch the top anglers they all use simple effective methods. They have all the expensive gear but if you gave them a simple outfit like this whip they would still catch a netfull. As the saying goes, “it’s not the length of your rod it’s how you wriggle your worm” Bill
@jamesduffy75495 жыл бұрын
absolutely, fancy gear doesn't fool fish into biting, just fools anglers into parting with our cash!

It's a noble thing you are doing and I hope it hits home to youngsters how much fun the sport is. Its not like when we were kids as I went everywhere with my dad and uncle fishing and have so many tales to tell about those days. I had two daughters and they were not interested in fishing. Fortunately I now have two young grandsons so I have my fingers crossed I can get them interested.

So I took a very basic cheap whip outfit down to my local canal. With just a few slices of liquidised bread for feed and a few slices for hookbait, 1/2 pint of maggots and a small tub of worms, I sat for a couple of hours fishing. It was non stop action from the start, admittedly most of the fish were small but did get a decent skimmer/hybrid, not sure which and after I packed the camera away I promptly hooked what I think was a carp which went of like an intercity train, breaking the hooklength. I hope you all enjoyed this video even tho’ I got 3 thumbs down, but why I don’t know why! Bill

Easy Fishing always going to get haters Bill, ignore them. Great video. Love canal fishing, and it’s important to remember that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get started. I remember my first fish, a gudgeon on the local cut, been hooked ever since. Definitely gonna get my 4 year old a whip. Took him a few times earlier in the year and he loved it. Shame I don’t live near the grand union, seems to be packed with roach. Very hit and miss on the Birmingham canals. My favourite spot is full of big bream and perch though. Not complaining, chopped worm and caster is absolutely deadly at dusk or dawning the far shelf. I think there must be a lot of pike/zander which may be the reason for no roach showing. Tight lines
@easyfishing19365 жыл бұрын
Gemma Gaskins Hi sounds like you have some good fishing in Birmingham canals. I think that if more people put the time in at peak feeding times, ie dawn and dusk they would be surprised what is around! Don’t hesitate, get your son a whip I’m sure he will love it and if you teach him the basics he will catch a lot of fish. As to the haters and armchair critics, I try to ignore them but I know they won’t disappear, unfortunately! Tight Lines Bill
