There are different types of ground bait. Active and inactive. Active means that it breaks down fast with a lot of lose partials. This kind of bait is best used for still waters like lakes. Inactive ground bait holds itself a lot longer and is good for moving waters like rivers. The sugar in the biscuits is probably what is holding the the bait together for so long. Use less biscuits and more fish mill see how that goes 👍

Is it any good on the method feeder ?
@waynesworldfishing
@waynesworldfishing 11 жыл бұрын
yeh it works fine on the feeder but make sure you get the mix right as the biscuit basted stuff cant be used on its own its to sticky. What I tend to do is three parts bread, one part fish mill and one part biscuit base mix. With that combo I landed the double double's in my video at Manor farm. Good luck and as always Catch ya later

did you make a video of it being used? did you blend the vitalin or use it straight?
@waynesworldfishing
@waynesworldfishing 10 жыл бұрын
I used the Vitalin as it was from the bag I like the fact that it has some nice large flakes hidden within it. I think that the fish like to really get their heads down and munch away at what it has to offer. But I did not only you the Vitalin on its own I also used the ground baith that I made with it just mixed it as and when. For example if I was going for carp I would use a lot of Vitalin but if I was going for silver fish and maybe bream I would not use the Vitalin and just stick to a sweet powder based ground bait. Also add hemp every fish likes hemp from the small ones the a lake monster and your right if you shop around you can buy it in bulk and save a whopping amount of money. Try adding chili flakes to it when its on the boil it will give it a hot spicy taste that carp really love.

if you grounded it up would you have to use it straight away or could you freeze it.. or would it be okay in a zip lock bad
@waynesworldfishing
@waynesworldfishing 9 жыл бұрын
Bryan Molloy well I never froze any of the bait but as its dry you can store it for a very long time. However when you ground up the white bread it has to be used within a day or two otherwise it will become blue/green and moldy unless you dry the bread out first. You can do this by laying it out in the sun to dry but I found that when I come back to mine the birds had eaten most of it or if you want to dry it quicker just place the slices side by side in the oven for a couple of minuets on a low heat so it drys that way. Then blend the bread and if its dried correctly it will last a long time in a bucket.

Thanks for the comment John, A Wayne's World Fishing tip! some commercial fisherys don't let you use ground bait at all, so the trick is to buy some quality soil from a garden center and add liquid baits to it and through that out it will colour the water and at smell to your swim. Catch ya later

What feeder are you using for Vitalin? Great vid, really gave me some ideas!
@waynesworldfishing
@waynesworldfishing 10 жыл бұрын
I use "large" cage feeders as some of the particles are too big for smaller feeders. Mesh and cage feeders work best and sprinkle some maggots in the mix to so the little buggers wriggle around in the feeders and push out all the bait for you.

It will keep forever mate as long as you make sure that it is all DRY! when you blend up your bread make sure you put it in the oven for a few minuets before blending so it goes all hard and dry NOT TO TOASTED! Once dry it should last for months if not years. The same will apply to everything that you put in the mix. Catch ya later

45 seconds per 250grams of blended bait x4 = per kilo = 3min x30 = all remaining bait = time 90 minutes of none stop blending... thats if everythings all in front of you and the motor does not burn out. how much electric would that cost using 900w blender you are using =)

Amazing!!! I use all these things, tackle box is full of them plus loads more. Try this, buy a humungous bag of milkshake straws and a bag of pea sticks that fit the straws ( 6mm roughly ) cut 1 inch lengths of pea sticks, cut the straw to suit your requirements and glue the pea stick bits in each end. hey presto stick floats. they are all I use now and you can put bits of lead in one end if you like to balance them. I use polyurethane wood glue from my workshop it's even sea water proof! I tie flies with them feathers too.
