On this occasion I was using a pre-tied Guru QM1 but this was just for convenience. I do experiment with hooks and use both the QM1 and Drennan Carp feeder. When I get better I will be doing some more videos on how to tie your own hooks to nylon and hook storage. Tight Lines.

Hi Bill, nice fish he put up a nice fight.I see you chum the water a lot I have never tried it myself or saw anyone in Indiana use this method.I think I will give a try on a day when the bite slows down.I fish a lot with live bait like grubs worms crickets minnows leashes.Do you fish much with artificial lures.I like to use soft plastics or hard bait like crankbaits.I really enjoy watching different fishing techniques and enjoy your videos.GOOD FISHING.

ronald ayres Hi well I don’t lure fish much but prefer to twitch or ‘sink n draw’ deadbaits when searching for pike and perch. You could try chopping lots of worms into very small pieces and feed them and either float fish, ledger or twitch a worm over them. We use it a lot in the UK for perch and I am positive that it would work for you in the states. Tight Lines

I love watching your videos bill but you should have had an unhooking mat, especially if your videoing it buddy, I know you had it on the grass to but when your lifting it it could have jumped outta your hands quite easy bill, should've left it in the landing net if you knew you didn't have one, anyway on to the next fish bill let's get that feeder back out to the spot buddy, sorry for the rant to pal,I only say it because people told me when I did the exact same thing, the fish need to be there for the up and coming fishermen and fisherwomen buddy, tight lines bill,guys

Nice vid and a lovely fish there with a great scrap. I was wondering do you make that pellet band on your hook yourself or do you buy hooks with them pre tied on from a tackle shop? if you make your own could you make a video of how to make them? cheers Bill. Keep fishing and tight lines.

I see exactly how i used my telescopic one which like in the vid you just done is made of fiberglass same as the NGT one you have, so is that 3m NGT telescopic handle you showed us in that video the same one you used here?

I use apiece of 4x2 piece of wood with a short piece for rest drilled and fastened in, useful for hard banks stages, if it falls in it floats!

James Ashton, Hi I was fishing Jenny’s Lake. I like it because it is a nice mixed lake full of roach,skimmers,tench, crucians, F1’s and carp so plenty of choice. Tight Lines

Going back this year in June! I went last year in June on two very hot weeks and the fishing was hard going on all lakes. So hoping for good weather and better fishing this year! Great video thank you.

James Ashton. Hi if it’s hot try fishing up in the water feeding small quantities regularly maggots,casters or pellets. Try getting tight to islands the closer the better, use the line clip. If all else fails try early or late. I have had three doubles and several smaller carp in just over an hour in the evening. Or have a go with very lightfeeding for the better roach go easy tho’ or the carp appear Glad you liked the video Tight Lines

Free spool no use when clipped up
@easyfishing19367 жыл бұрын
Steve Ames . Hi Steve when I cast to the clip I either bring the rod to the side or over my head ,so that I can get a few turns on the reel to take up the slack without moving the feeder. When I put the freespool on it gives me a couple of seconds to react without losing the rod.

After long search: Cyprinus carpio carpio (mirror carp)
@easyfishing19366 жыл бұрын
GPC™ Hi well I will take your word on that. All I know is that all carp in this country are the same breed just different scaling and are not native to the UK, they were originally brought in by the monks for food. Our native carp is the crucian which grows to about 6lb max. Of course we now have F1’s, Carrassio and ghost carp which are all hybrids. Tight Lines
@paulfranciosi6474 жыл бұрын
Latin name for king carp.koi basically ornamental carp by the Japanese.Goldfish crucians carrassio are not king carp.F1 are hybrids goldfish X king carp or crucian X king carp are F1 hybrids.Ghost carp koi X normal king carp Bill wouldn't obviously give you wrong info .Jpc.

Where your unhooking mat
@easyfishing19367 жыл бұрын
Terry Bohane .hi as I stated I normally unhook fish still in the net across my knees. This means an absolute minimum of handling, much less than transferring a fish from a net to an unhooking mat! In this case as I also made the point that this was aimed at holiday anglers who can't cram loads of gear into a car packed for a family holiday and I unhooked the fish in the net while on wet grass to prevent damage
@cns1807846 жыл бұрын
Thats the best way to unhook them imo. With the landing net how can the fish possibly injure itself when it flaps about? its more likely to injure itself when flapping around on an unhooking mat. Just an unnecessary piece of equipment that costs more for the angler and does less good than unhooking fish in a landing net. Match anglers unhook fish in the landing net all the time. Obviously its the quickest way but if it wasnt safe for the fish then they'd have to use an unhooking mat but they know thats not the case.

cns180784 go to pound pans and buy a baby changing mat. It's cheap an very small probably folds to to the size of a bait tub or rolls up thinner. I don't really do much carp fishing but it's perfect for unhooking small river fish like grayling on rocky banks. If you don't have a chair you can unhook them in the mat but with a baby changing may you rent worried about their slime or flapping about. Too cheap and small not to buy and take with you. I value mine above a disgorger.
@cns1807846 жыл бұрын
I take it you mean Poundland? if not then i've never heard of pound pans before. Thanks anyway thats something to consider, i do actually think it would be necessary to use an unhooking mat when catching specimen Carp that will put strain on your net. My biggest Carp has only been about 3lb (hadnt fished for years, only recently got back into fishing) so nice and comfortable to unhook in my landing net with the net on my knees.
