Thanks for the video! My vacuum and charging station looked clean, so I did everything but clean it to get it to charge. No success. Finally, I cleaned it, and it worked. Learned my lesson. Don't trust your eyeballs. If someone says something works, give it a try.

Had the same tiny spot on the same contact on our Roomba 960, and even wiped the contacts "clean" with my hands to no avail. You just saved me hours of headache and likely a pretty penny, as I was starting to look for a new charger or battery!

My roomba 690 won't work. When docked on to charger, charger lamp comeson on the charger, clean green light blinks and charging battery blinks red. This goes off after sometime a na na na na beeps. Same cycle repeats again and again. All the contacts are cleaned. Have no idea if battery is charged charging or bad.

I cleaned my contacts with a damp cloth -- no change. But the Mr Clean trick did the job! I wouldn't have thought that scum was so sticky...

Thank you! This worked perfectly. And since I didn't have a Magic Eraser handy, I just used an ordinary kitchen sponge and a little water, and put some elbow grease into it. And it worked!

Thanks man. This is exactly what I needed. Some lady tried to scam me by charging me $90 for a $400 Roomba because it wasn’t charging and she didn’t know how to fix it but she advertised that it was working perfect and never told me it wasn’t working properly. So I watched the video, Cleaned the contact points and BAM! Charging perfectly. If only she would of did a small amount of research. Her “scam” ended up giving me a homerun of deal.

jesus... the TINIEST bit of gunk prevents the charge... the TINIEST. Literally a tiny bit of black gunk on one of the chargers prevented charging of my Roomba.. thank you for showing me this. I appreciate it so much.

I don't have any Mr. Clean Magic Erasers on hand, so before running to the store I decided to try it with a clean rag and some rubbing alcohol. It worked just fine. Thanks for this video!

i read a comment and that actually fixed mine. It was the tiny bit of dirt on the contacts! First thing. I had already wiped with my finger before and figured they were "clean enough". But? Nope. I took some rubbing alcohol and wiped them off. Indeed, those specs of "dirt" actually made it glitch and not charge properly. GREAT!!!

Make sure the outlet you are plugging it into is working. If you can’t get it to charge you can return it.

with the name puymouret i thanked you just over a year ago for help. Now I'm back to say it all over again. the issue this time was the spring contacts on the charger. I opened up the charger and found one of the contacts was stuck down. a bit for fiddling and it came back up fully. Thanks again, by the way i just checked and my roomba 760 is now NINE years old and still going strong. PS , i did not know about the side charging port but it does not seem to work anyway but nice to know about, thanks yet again

Upon removing the battery of our new unit, I noticed that one of the battery contact springs was bent off to the side, thus no contact. I bent the spring up straight and life is good now. Seems necessary to clean charging contacts about once a year based on the older one we have. Thanks for the video. Roomba on.
