Omg! The whole time I thought mine didn’t charge and broke and let it sit in a closet for 2 years without using it. Until I found your video and you said “if it’s not lighting, it in a sleep mode” 😅 now mine full charged and working again… thanks a TON for a video

my old roomba 880 would squeak and make grinding noises constantly on the hard floor, but not on the carpet. it drove me CRAZY, because i absolutely cant handle the grinding and squeaking noises. so i put mine into a closet and never used it again. fast forward a year later when i was moving i found it in the closet and forgot where it was from, so then i threw it away because we had no use for it anymore and my small brain forgot about it. now i have an i7+ that i found at a damn garage sale for $50 somehow. lucky me, i suppose.

I found one that hadn't been used in 10 or so years in a bag in my Mother's laundry room. Dirty as heck. Wiped off the surface dust on the unit and the charger and plugged in the charger and set the unit on the dock. After 5 minutes or so I got an Err5 message. Repeatedly. Looked it up-related to battery. Disassembled and pulled battery out. Found one contact and one terminal corroded. Polished them with Mother's magnesium cream. THAT worked. Then after charging over night I set it on it's way cleaning. A couple of minutes later it said "Error 2 -open the cage and clean the brushes" ( something like that ). I turned it over and the brushes looked fine. I took the brushes out and also pried the piece they sit in out and took the screws off the side that has the motor to turn the brushes. GOOD LORD was it ever packed with hair and fur and old grease! Spent an hour cleaning up the pieces and the six cogs packed with crud. Put it back together and she's running like a champ. ( though I do need to by a side brush unit as that stopped after 30 seconds. 😀

My Roomba has a port on the side. So that means I need the base like the one you have on the left? I got mine second hand and I'm having a hard time charging.

Did all your suggestions, including a new battery, and I still can get it to boot. I have a #655. What else to try?

So you have cleaned the contacts of the charger and the robot . Replaced the battery and nothing. Good chance the robot is dead. Could be the charger tho. I would suspect the robot would have at least made a sound with a new battery since they come with a pre charge .

Hi, I have a Roomba 511 it’s an older model does not have a port. I replaced it the battery recently and cleaned the machine now the new battery isn’t being detected.

Hi! the matter is that your new battery may be of a little bit smaller size (like mine new one) and itmay be in a lower position now and does not contact. I solved this problem by putting a piece of cardboard on the top of the battery so as to press it and the battery was detected again

My roomba 670 will randomly turn on while on the the charger. I don't keep it plugged I'm 24/7 tho do u think that could be the reason why it randomly turns on?

511 model says error 7 charging error. Plug in charger at side of robot. Any suggestions? Help center says it can't be fixed after i sprnt $ to try a new battery

I have the same problem the charging station light turns off aster a few minutes and then it stops charging.. already cleaned we’ll just to make sure it’s making good contact but idk why it turns off
