A new episode of Easy German Basic Phrases, and this one is all about food! - An important topic when first coming to a new country :)
In this episode the students of the 2014 German-Namibian exchange group tell us their favorite sentences around the topic of food :)
Easy Languages is a non-profit video project aiming at supporting people worldwide to learn languages through authentic street interviews. We also use this format to expose our street culture abroad and create a more diverse image of our countries. Vielen Dank Very helpful. I don't agree that it's too fast. We have to get used to normal speech. For those who think it's too fast - just re-run the phrases a few times. You'll get it.

Can anyone explain "sau Lecker"? I thought it was "sehr lecker". Is "sau Lecker" slang?
@Sarah-kc3fb
@Sarah-kc3fb 9 жыл бұрын
Scott Robinson Sau lecker is slang. Translated word by word it means "pig tasty", but it's just another way to say that it tastes really good. Wouldn't use that one in a fancy Restaurant though.

+Sarah E. thank you for the tip , but in a fancy Restaurant how can I say to the chef the food was tasty ? and about the word geil .. is polite say that (essen ist geil ) ?
@Sarah-kc3fb
@Sarah-kc3fb 9 жыл бұрын
MANCHESTER DONOVAN In a Restaurant you could say: Es hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Oder: Es war sehr lecker. Both of them mean that the food was tasty. And i would use the word geil only when you are out with friends. Its usual translation is horny. So not quite the polite way haha

Yeah, this is supposed to be easy German, but the natural speed tends to slur words together and can't be differentiated by untrained ears.
@Ninchennase

I'm afraid that's just normal natural speed really. So talking more slowly would be unnatural.

Why weren't they pronouncing "haben" in the sentence "Jetzt haben wir Hunger!" ? It sounded like they were pronouncing it "ham" like "Jetzt ham wir Hunger"... help please.
@Unbrutal_Rawr
@Unbrutal_Rawr 9 жыл бұрын
+tinpot1978 Final -en in German is normally reduced to a syllabic N that is assimilated to the previous sound. Thus, ben->bm, den->dn, pfen->pfm, tzen->tzn. Those are all syllables with the N/M acting as a vowel.
