I always soak my dal in water until soaked through and then run it through the blender, with the water it soaked in (do not oversoak), then you could add the oats and/or tapioca flour.

It is 6 in the morning, it has been snowing all night, and I am sitting now in front of my computer with a mug of your golden chai latte in my hands, based on your recipe from July which I discovered yesterday. It is absolutely wonderful, tasty and warming, and a great way to start a winter day. Thank you for the recipe!

Thank you so much for this beautiful recipe. I have Celiacs, and eat gluten-free, as well as vegetarian/vegan. Gluten-free bread in the United States is super expensive, and sometimes filled with things I don't want to eat, so I'm always on the lookout to expand my homemade bread repertoire. I can't wait to try these today & make TLTs (tempeh "bacon", lettuce & tomato) 😊

Really glad to be of help. The options here are pretty limited too, so I feel ya. Nothing beat a homemade with love recipe that hits the spot ✨💕🌻

What do you mean, you "have celiacs"? I have celiac disease, is that what you mean? Or people who are sensitive to gluten? "I have celiacs"? What DOES THAT MEAN???!!!

Lovely to see you here too. Last year I had spent so much time creating the content for my online courses that I couldn't face making any more videos, then I had lots of work on retreats. Now I am enjoying getting back into the flow of video making and will be posting again more regularly. xx

Yay happy to hear that. A nice treat - enjoy!
@wendydee30072 жыл бұрын
@@KindEarthTV Well it might become an everyday staple rather than a treat! A low oxalate diet is extremely limiting as most veggies, fruit and nuts are high oxalate. Chick peas are fine, oats are ok in modest amounts :o)
@KindEarthTV2 жыл бұрын
@@wendydee3007 this is good for me to learn about actually in case I am ever asked when catering on retreats. I have heard of this but it's never been requested on any retreat so it's sort of passed me by so far. I did watch a fascinating video on it a few years back, so I should refresh my knowledge. I am really happy you can have this. I know how fabulous it is to find something good when options are limited. I posted a beetroot flatbread recipe recently with a chickpea flour base too. I am not sure if you can eat beetroot, but I've just done a search for low oxylate veg and you could swap out for courgette/zuchini.

@@KindEarthTV For anyone who does not thrive on a vegetarian or vegan diet, they should get checked out. I nearly died two years ago, with complications from a perforated gallstone, caused by high oxalates and I had absolutely no idea I had a problem. A balanced gut biome includes oxalobacters, which remove oxalates from the body, but these are very quickly destroyed by taking antibiotics, and cannot be replaced. Unfortunately, most people have taken antibiotics these days, but the awareness of oxalates in veg/fruit and nuts is not widely known about. Namaste :o)
@karenkukurin5078 Жыл бұрын
Sally Norton just put out a book called Super Toxic Foods. She’s an expert on oxalates and has done a great deal of research.

Can I use rice flour instead of oats or tapioca?
@KindEarthTV2 жыл бұрын
to get them wrappable it's best to stick to the options I have suggested. You can definitely substitute, but I don't think rice flour would work as well though
@anne-mariewalsh63082 жыл бұрын
Can you freeze them? I am looking to make them ahead of time, so I can just pull them out and thaw....also what is the brand of the pan? Thanks...
@KindEarthTV2 жыл бұрын
They keep for a few days in the fridge and YES you'll be pleased to know that they do freeze as well. After defrosting from the freezer - simply warm them up in the same pan. This will quickly soften them again. They are optimal when served fresh where possible, but I do agree - it's good to make a few ahead for later use too. If you want to take them out individually then it is best to separate them with parchment paper. However, if you are taking them out in batches (i.e. a few at a time) then there is no need to separate your batches with parchment paper as they will separate fine upon defrosting. I hope that helps. I'd love to hear how you get on.
