You ask the Greeks what do they do on their vacation and most of them don't even consider going outside their country. Why should they? They know they have the best place in the world!

It's crazy how similar to Spanish (from Spain) it sounds, even though almost none of the words are similar and the languages are only distantly related. The sound of the language just sounds very similar. It's like I should understand what they're saying, but I dont

As a avid follower of Easy Languages (I have been learning German, and enjoy the insights it provide immensely), I must say I really appreciate the way this show is done. As a Greek-American I can say I am immensely proud and am very much expectant of the Easy Greek series! Bravo sas paidia!

Two comments. First, In all the Easy German, what I appreciated learning the most, was the culture, customs, and traditions. I hope to see Easy Greek progress that way. Mipos borite na mas ferete se kanena glendi, polles evropaikes xores then exoun tetia paradosi. ;) Second, if the objective is for xenous to learn the Greek Language, please be careful, with both who you use as an example and what the translation says. For example, when the elder gentleman said, "as poume" at the end of one of his sentences, it was excluded. I think there was another instance of omission, as well. Perhaps this was unintentional (or because it was mumbled) but you should put these things in for the learners! Also, you KNOW someone is going to bring this up... The Albanian gentleman... He was very pleasant and his Greek was very good... BUT, he made a great deal of mistakes in his grammar, and this was not reflected in the Greek text. This might also be a problem for learners. Perhaps you can put an asterix in the translation when it is being corrected? Otherwise, neophytes may learn things incorrectly. Thank you very much for listening. Sas efxaristo!

This is good practice for listening precisely because of the amount of repetition in the responses - you start to pick up familiar themes, even where it would be too fast if you heard it only once.

Too bad Greek doesn't have anymore the phoneme that German, Turkish, Hungarian [ü], Finnish, Albanian [y], French, Icelandic [u]. That phoneme was in Ancient Greek supposedly represented by Y υ, now it's just pronounced the same as Ι ι and Η η.

These northern Greeks, emphasize too much of the letter L/Λαμδα. We make fun of Thessalonikians just because of that. Typical foods they eat: μπουγατσα με τυρι, σουβλακι , (instead of the correct καλαμάκι), κτλ.. Τhey are cool guys though, even though their teams, Aris and Paok, suck.

Neueregel, γνωρίζω την ιστορία πως τα πρώτα σουβλάκια, ήταν κομμάτια κρέατος σε καλάμι, αλλά πλέον το ξύλο που χρησιμοποιούμε δεν προέρχεται από καλαμιές. Ακόμα και το καλαμάκι για τον καφέ, το πλαστικό, ψιλο-άκυρο που το χρησιμοποιούμε τώρα που το σκέφτομαι. Το μόνο σίγουρο είναι πως η λέξη Σουβλάκι έχει βάση ακόμα και στις μέρες μας, καθώς το κρέας σουβλίζεται άσχετα με το υλικό στο οποίο τοποθετείται...Καλή η προσέγγιση σου, αλλά χωλαίνει στο εξής: Το σουβλάκι τι προσδιορίζει όταν αναφερόμαστε σε ένα πιτόγυρο; Και σε κάθε περίπτωση τι λογής πιτόγυρο είναι αυτό που εμπεριέχει και καλαμάκι;
@Neueregel
@Neueregel 8 жыл бұрын
@user-gh5qm7hg7h
@user-gh5qm7hg7h 8 жыл бұрын
