Istheir a substitute for tapioca flour?
@gentletummy4 ай бұрын

This is a great recipe, thanks for sharing! Would aquafaba work instead of the egg white for the wash?
@gentletummy4 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, aquafaba can be used as a substitute for egg whites in a wash! It works well to give baked goods a similar glossy finish and helps with browning, just like an egg white wash would.

Hi!! I am a beginner in baking anything bread, and as of now I only own an air fryer and no oven :( I am really interested in making them, however I do not know what temperature and time of cooking is required for pre- heating and baking them in an air fryer! It would be soo great if your could let me know. Also if I am not wrong, I have heard about boiling the bagles before baking, so can I try to boil my bagles before cooking them in the air fryer? Is it possible? 😅 I would highly appreciate if you could share your thoughts with me, thanks ❤
@gentletummy14 күн бұрын
Hello, there's so much you can make with your air fryer :) Make these bagels as directed. Then place them in your cold air fryer basket and cook at 350°F for about 12 minutes. Keep an eye on them and take them out when they are golden brown on top. You do not have to boil these like a yeasted bagel :) Please let me know how they turn out!

Does tapioca flour have to be added to this recipe or can I substitute it for some other?

@gentletummy3 ай бұрын
Excellent question, Carla! I include ingredient substitutions on the recipe page. You can access it by clicking the link in the video description :) If you want to use almond flour, you'll need to add another 'stickier' flour to help them hold together. Can oat fiber be used instead of tapioca....just asking
@gentletummy4 ай бұрын
Great question :) I do not recommend it because oat fiber is the outside husk that doesn't provide much structure for baking. But, you can use oat flour. I created a chart on the recipe page on my website under Ingredients & Substitutions that lists various flour options and measurements.

@gentletummy3 ай бұрын
Hi Julianna, yes, you can use oat and almond flour :) I recommend 1/2 cup of each. You could make a half-batch of the recipe to test it first. Adjust the flour amount if needed so you get a similar consistency to what I show in the video.

Can we use just almond flour and no tapioca flour?
@gentletummy4 ай бұрын
Hi Jessica, that is a great question. You can use only almond flour, but the texture will be a bit denser and not as spongy as when using tapioca flour. To use all almond flour you would need to replace the 1/4 cup of tapioca flour with 1/2 cup more almond flour. The almond flour is not as absorbent as tapioca flour. You can also replace the tapioca flour with the same amount of a gluten-free flour blend, or all-purpose flour if you don't have to eat gluten free. I recommend making a 1/2 batch to test any of these variations :)

Yogurt is a Turkish word. So the original of this food is Turkish. The things you buy from the market and eat as yogurt are not real yogurt. The Greeks and the French are fooling you.
@gentletummy3 ай бұрын
Thank you for the insight! I'm glad we have the Turkish to thank for yogurt :) It is important to use what the stores have labeled 'greek yogurt' in this recipe because it is thicker than regular yogurt. The bagels won't rise if regular yogurt is used.
