Our house is decorated the same way! In the daytime, you see my pretty wreaths with the red bows hanging in the windows. Christmas garland in my window sills that have red and green sparkly ornaments and red holly berries. This is my first year doing this and I love it! At night, with the way our house is shaped, the colored lights make it look like a gingerbread house! Best of both worlds! 🙂 Bless your heart for getting on that high ladder! No way could I do that! I think your house looks perfect! Everyone got what they wanted!

It looks so pretty! I can’t believe going that high on the ladder doesn’t scare you. No traditions really for us. Shoot half the time we never have anything to open on Christmas because we can never wait. We keep outside lights on the house year round. (They are green and orange Halloween colors) live in a rural area, no street lights. My neighbors through the woods have their deck wrapped in Christmas lights year round and it’s so comforting.

I’m a traditional classic style too. The dark green wreaths with the red velvet bows are my favorite. I’m glad you went ahead and did the color light for the kids though. They won’t be kids forever. The house looks beautiful! I’ve been binge watching for a week and this morning am watching to help bolster my courage to go put up a glass shower door on my tiled bathtub. I got a hacksaw and masonry drill bits and have watched a dozen videos of how to do it. Now all that’s left is for me to just go do it. I’m a little scared to drill into tile but here goes nothing!

Great video. I have those brick wreath holders and use them all the time. If it gets real windy sometimes the wreath falls but other than that I love them. God bless you for climbing. 🙏♥️

No way would I put lights that high. One fall can forever change a life. Years ago a former coworker told me she was installing lights on her second story roof edge. I advised her to have a strong adult stabilize the base of the ladder at all times. She dismissed my input. I am also independent but this situation was not threatening anyone's independence. Sadly the ladder was on a wet surface and it started to slide. She had no Plan B options. She shattered a hip and shoulder. When her head hit she also suffered an extreme brain bleed. (All brain bleeds are serious but hers was diagnosed 'extreme'.) She never again walked or spoke words, she made sounds. She survived almost 2yrs. We were later informed she wasn't aware she was pregnant. They had been trying for over 8yrs. Be careful. At 72 I have to choose my battles. My usual stubbornness could be my downfall. I do not view that decision as a weakness, for me it's more of a survival tactic.

I realize your activities have already passed. But what the heck! You’re still on that ladder? 😮. Still no body holding the ladder for you? No tether? I admire you but you need to not do that. I know of three people who have died falling off ladders while installing Christmas lights. Not to mention falling and seriously injuring themselves while painting. Where is your husband or a friend? Ask any firefighter about climbing tall ladders. They would not recommend what you are doing. You are certainly awesome and are doing a great job managing all of your projects. You are very inspiring ,and your work ethic and skills are admirable. But please use a lot more caution when using ladders to reach those heights. You are too precious to be injured.
