After watching this, I ask myself why so many people crying about headphone jack being removed on smartphones? Just look at that mess of cables people! You really want to keep a cable wired headphone jack with a cord getting in your face and anything you do? Great review by the way.

I use Bluetooth earphones for everyday outdoor but I still prefer my wired headphones when I'm home. There clearer sounds don't have to worry about charging it and won't have odd interference (rare but can happen). And not so much of a issue with decent Bluetooth but if you use some cheaper one you get some slight lag on the audio or some feedback noise. But more then anything there's no real need to remove the Jack in the first place.

A third grader can hookup the ethernet cable to MJ and the router. The phone to the MJ and plug MJ USB port to DC adapter. The way you made in video was worse. What makes the difference is the noise level at DC adapter. So you start with a low noise power supply and go through process of opening the account and after Porting your Phone number with MJ. Magic Jack has limitations and the quality of voice depend on the Noise generated by the power supply and the speed of internet.

After your plug MJ into a laptop it will download an app and run it. This app will allow you to pick the phone number option (it also includes a FREE number option) along will setting some other options. You can try connecting it with a USB cable to the Fire and see if it will work; if not, you will need a laptop for the setup.

MJ will work with old phone BUT the ringer may not ring if it is mechanical. You may need a ringer booster. A phone from 1975 say with a mechanical bell mechanism inside may not work. A phone from 2000 to now will probably work.

They don't mention this in the instructions in the box but when you go through the installation program there is an option to sign up for a FREE phone number. You pick out the state, then are presented with applicable zip codes. Pick one, then pick the prefix. The app will then provide an available number. Click OK and you're all set.

What the install manual does not tell you is that there is an option for a FREE phone number. It asks you to select a state, then an area code, then the prefix. After that it will assign an available number. Click OK and you have your number! The only caveat here is that for 911 use, THERE IS A CHARGE! It doesn't state what the charge is or if it's renewed. It could be a charge applied by the locality instead of MJ.

Sure. How else will the power transfer to the magic jack? Power does not come thru the network cable. You lost your cable? Watch the video and order a similar cable on eBay or Amazon. But the Magic Jack kit will include the cable too.

No, you don't need the short cable. The short cable isn't actually in the box so that you can plug it into the power adapter. The short cable is in the box so that you don't block off more than 1 USB port on your computer if you choose to use it by plugging it into a PC.

Log into your MagicJack account and they give you a number of numbers to choose from from the area code you picked. If someone just gave you this magic Jack and it has no phone number connected to it then you need to try to register it. If it is in someone else's name they need to unregister it first. Best to toss it in the trash and buy a new one.

Si vous avez un Magic Jack n'importe ou dans le monde et une autre personne vous appelle, ca compte comme appel locale (de Magic Jack a Magic Jack avec des numeros si des Etats Unis, si de Canada). La chose plus importante est que vous sauvez l'argent pour le telephone. Comme meme, je ne suis pas sure si vous pouvez faire des appels aux autre pays en payant en plus; peut-etre celles-la compte comme des appel de longue distance. Ceux qui provient d'une autre ville sont aussi consideres de longue distance. Bon chance!

No, you would need to have a CC on file with MagicJack, and they would charge you per minute depending on where in Mexico you are calling. Looks like calling a cell will charge you 11 cents per minute.
