Really good video explaining this cast-on. I can't remember when I first saw Judy's Magic Cast-on but I used it on the second pair of toe-up socks I ever knitted and that has been a few years. I use this cast-on for every pair of socks I knit now.

When casting on if you go between the top needle and wrap your stitches the front leg of the stitches are in correct working position. I dont remember where i learned this it maybe Susan B Anderson, but it makes such a difference especially because it's kind of fiddley first.

Do you have any videos that teach or help with continental knitting? No matter how hard I try, I can never get enough tension to make my knitting look normal. I’ve tried and tried magic loop and ALWAYS have ladders. I guess it will always be dpns, 9” circs, and/or flexiflips for me 😢

Every time I try to knit socks usually this method on magic loop I get holes in between the 2 needles and I can’t figure out how to fix it I always make sure to pull the first and last stitches of each side super tight but it doesn’t seem to work could someone pls help me with this

Very little difference in the figure 8 cast on. When you use the slip knot why can't you add an extra st and drop the slip knot .

It’s hard to explain why but let me try...the way you cast on makes it so that if you drop the slip stitch it doesn’t disappear. Try it and you will see.
