I used to play on insanely high taming because I thought it took way too long to tame a Dino... with raw meat. Turning it down really has made me enjoy the game more, because I actually have to engage in these systems that I never had before

As a side i feel like its worth mentioning that if you want to imprint but don't have the desired item just cryo the tame and throw it back out. Boom it wants something different

Don’t waste kibble on an imprint, unless you have an extremely ample supply of it. All you have to do to change what the baby what’s for the imprint is to cryo it, then uncryo it. It’ll want something different.

Good way to get exceptional kibble without having to tame a bunch of Yutys is building by a river or lake that has wild hesperonis on it, if you leave them be they'll put out golden eggs regularly enough, i built a base in the oasis on the island and left the central pool intact, 3 wild hesperonis living there leave quite a few golden eggs around, enough to meet my early exceptional.kibble needs

It's always easy to make something when you have everything solved. Give me all the dinos and I make kibbles easily too. Reaching the point where you can make kibbles regularly is the hard part, and when you reach that point, what you want the kibbles for? There should be something in between a thatch hut and stone tools and an industrialized base and an army of varied creatures. "how to become billionare? invest your millions..."

You can get dodos (thus dodo eggs) quite easily for basic kibble, and raptors/dilos are also nice for early kibble (though their eggs drop kinda rarely)

@@misspurdy27288 dodos do have good egg drop rates, but you need to have fruits planted, for that you need to level up,by the time you are able to make basic kibble you already have those tamable by simple kibble in your tribe. You are able to make kibble for what you already have. It is pointless unless you want a docent of each dino after you got already your work labor

WHY do i need to invest time in (finding a specific dino,taming it, feeding it , protecting it, w8 12 hours for 1 egg , making a farm ,find rare seends builing said farm , mainatin farm ,protect farm ,) JUST TO GET 1 KIBBLE SO I CAN SAVE 5% FROM ALL THE READILY AVAILABLE BERRIES AND MEAT ALL AROUND ME , 2 days or non stop work (practically undo able in PVP)vs 4 min of farming WTF?????????????????????????????

Yes, though I'm not sure which it'll eat first if there's meat in the trough as well. People also sometimes use simple kibble to keep their daeodons fed in boss fights, since it provides more food than regular meat and doesn't have a cooldown timer.

I always thought it'd be great for pvp servers if the recipes for everything were random and you could only learn them by finding notes. and then you could either trade the notes or memorise the recipes and destroy the notes. it'd make the players and their individual knowledge more valuable and would promote collaborative over senseless killing I think. idk

Fantastic video and full of great information I’m just getting back into ark and doing everything I can to soak up knowledge of the game. I have a tribe of 4, what area would you reccomend we set up a base? We used Viking bay and jungle and keep getting raided

Viking Bay 1/2/3 are pretty good starting areas, you have got all the mats you need at the beginning, tons of Dodos, Dillos, Pteras for taming, underwater at the bay you can farm pearls, oil. Also, there are some nice rock foundations where you can build a starter base safe from the wild, at Viking bay 2 there is a huge cave behind the waterfall where the skeleton is. But to be honest I play more PVE than PVP and if you getting wiped before you even get a chance to set up find a better PVP server. I don't understand why anyone wants to take out low lev players as you don't have anything an alpha tribe needs. lots of waterfalls you can build a little 2 square build as a plan b base. We literally have people on manas or argys occasionally come by and destroy our stone base, it’s so frustrating having to start from scratch, I will consider switching servers as this one is heavily pvp based and I’m more into PVE anyway, not that I want 0 pvp but it doesn’t make sense to start fresh every other day and waste all this time when we’re just a rag tag crew struggling against impossible odds. jerky is made in the preserving bin by adding oil and cooked meat, prime meat jerky is made the same way and have spark powder in there 2.

These kibbles don't work at all!! why'd they have to mess with this system so badly!? I just tried to tame an ankylo with regular kibble(it's supposed preferred food) and it didn't even tame it a whole 1%!! the thing won't even eat the kibble and instead just goes for berries..

Holton try removing the berries I've only really played on official solo but I've been playing for a long time if your on a server try removing the berries when taming along with meat, if it dosent work try giving them even better kibble than it needs for example. Let's say you knock out a dodo it would of course need simple kibble but if you give it exceptional kibble it will go WAAAAY faster and chances are it will only take 1

You have to make sure the first item in their inventory is their Kibble of choice. Otherwise if you put the berries in first, followed by kibble, they'll eat the berries first.

no, you can grow stuff without a greenhouse but it will grow 3 times slower without a greenhouse effect as long as a plant box has poop of fertilizer and is integrated with water you can grow stuff

If you have charcoal in the pot, you wind up with dye instead. If you're using wood for fuel you have to watch it and pick the charcoal out as it forms... or just burn thatch for fuel instead.

What does doing an imprint means?

I’m still learning ark myself but imprinting is when your breeding and it asks you if you want to imprint the baby. What happens is that it instantly claims the baby but makes it so that you have to take care of the baby. It might ask you to go for a walk with it or cuddle. If you fully imprint it by doing everything it asks it will have a boosts in stats.
